California has roughly half a million Muslims.

There are over 12 million Catholics in California, yet schools have no similar authorization to celebrate the religious significance of Christmas, Easter or Good Friday.

There are a million and half Jews but no Rosh Hashanah or Yom Kippur state holidays.

Public schools would be allowed to close and hold exercises “acknowledging and celebrating” those days. State workers would also get holiday credit as well

California Democrats are advancing a new bill that would establish two Muslim holy days as state holidays while authorizing the state to develop a new model curriculum for students to “acknowledge and celebrate” these Islamic observances in the classroom.

Bazrouk is accused of three separate attacks against Jewish people in the city.
