Supreme Court refuses to hear case of Christian student forced to recite the Islamic prayer of conversion in PUBLIC SCHOOL

118

Public schools proselytizing for Islam – one of the grander victories of 9/11. This is an unequivocal violation of our establishment clause.  If the Dems get their way on SCOTUS, the shahada will be the daily prayer in America’s classrooms.

This is not the first time the Supreme Court has bailed on a sharia case. Inaction is an action. Cowardice.

Supremes have no problem with teacher forcing Christian student to voice Islamic prayer

Threatened failing grade for not reciting conversion declaration

Story continues below advertisement

By WND Staff, October 15, 2019 at 3:45pm

The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to take the case of a public school teacher who required her students to recite the Islamic “conversion prayer” or receive a failing grade.

The Thomas More Law Center is defending Caleigh Wood, a Christian student in 11th grade at La Plata High School in La Plata, Maryland.

Wood refused to deny her faith “by making a written profession of the Muslim conversion prayer known as the shahada – ‘There is no god by allah and Muhammad is the messenger of allah,'” Thomas More said.

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled the teacher did not violate the Establishment Clause.

Wood also had been forced to view a series of Islam-promoting PowerPoint slides, including one casting aspersions on Christians that said, “Most Muslims’ faith is stronger than the average Christian.”

The teacher’s actions were condemned in court by the high school’s content specialist, Jack Tuttle.

Richard Thompson, Thomas More’s chief counsel, said he’s “not aware of any public school which has forced a Muslim student to write the Lord’s Prayer or John 3:16: ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'”

“Yet, under the pretext of teaching history or social studies, public schools across America are promoting the religion of Islam in ways that would never be tolerated for Christianity or any other religion,” he said. “It’s disappointing that the Supreme Court did not take this opportunity to clarify the test which lower courts should use when ruling on establishment clause and free speech challenges to public school classes on religion.”

Thomas More contends the school violated the First Amendment’s Establishment and Free Speech clauses when it ordered Wood to do an assignment that she could not complete without violating her Christian beliefs.

The teacher then gave her a failing grade.

The center explained Wood “believes it is a sin to profess the existence of any other god but the Christian God. She stood firm in her Christian beliefs and was punished for it. School officials refused her father’s request that she be allowed to opt-out or be given an alternative assignment. She refused to complete her anti-Christian assignment and consequently received a failing grade.”

The school’s Islamic indoctrination also included: “Islam at heart is a peaceful religion,” “Jihad is a ‘personal struggle in devotion to Islam, especially involving spiritual discipline,'” “To Muslims, Allah is the same God that is worshiped in Christianity and Judaism,” and “Men are the managers of the affairs of women.”

“Many public schools have become hot beds of Islamic propaganda. Teaching Islam in schools has gone far beyond a basic history lesson. Prompted by zealous Islamic activism and emboldened by confusing court decisions, schools are now bending over backwards to promote Islam while at the same time denigrating Christianity,” Thompson said. “Although the Supreme Court passed up an opportunity to provide clearer constitutional guidance on this important issue, there will be other chances as this issue isn’t going away anytime soon.”

‘The true faith, Islam’

The dispute over Islamic indoctrination in public schools isn’t new.

In May 2017, in Groesbeck, Texas, a couple moved their sixth-grade daughter to a new school after they discovered her history homework assignment on Islam.

In late March 2017, as WND reported, a middle school in Chatham, New Jersey, was using a cartoon video to teach the Five Pillars of Islam to seventh-grade students, prompting two parents to obtain legal services to fight the school district, which has ignored their concerns.

Teaching the five pillars of Islam also created an uproar in Summerville, South Carolina, and in Loganville, Georgia, last year.

WND also reported in March 2017 a high school in Frisco, Texas, set up an Islamic prayer room specifically for Muslim students to pray on campus during school hours. The same type of prayer rooms have been set up in high schools in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and other school districts.

In 2015, parents in Tennessee asked the governor, legislature and state education department to investigate pro-Islam bias in textbooks and other materials.

WND reported in 2012 ACT for America conducted an analysis of 38 textbooks used in the sixth through 12th grades in public schools and found that since the 1990s, discussions of Islam are taking up more and more pages, while the space devoted to Judaism and Christianity has simultaneously decreased.

In 2009, Gilbert T. Sewall, director of the American Textbook Council, a group that reviews history books, told Fox News the texts were “whitewashing” Islamic extremism and key subjects such as jihad, Islamic law and the status of women.

Also in 2009, WND reported the middle school textbook “History Alive! The Medieval World and Beyond,” published by Teachers’ Curriculum Institute, said an Islamic “jihad” is an effort by Muslims to convince “others to take up worthy causes, such as funding medical research.”

In 2006, WND reported a school in Oregon taught Islam by having students study and learn Muslim prayers and dress as Muslims.

WND reported in 2003 a prominent Muslim leader who eventually was convicted on terror-related charges helped write the “Religious Expression in Public Schools” guidelines issued by President Bill Clinton.

In 2001, shortly after the 9/11 attacks, seventh graders in Byron, California, were taught a three-week course on Islam that required them to learn 25 Islamic terms, 20 proverbs, Islam’s Five Pillars of Faith, 10 key Islamic prophets and disciples, recite from the Quran, wear a robe during class, adopt a Muslim name and stage their own “holy war” in a dice game.

And in the past few months, WND has reported on a series of letters sent to Washington state school districts that were promoting Islam through a Ramadan policy of giving Muslim students special privileges.

I see nothing particularly wrong with requiring students to learn what the shahada says … I have no objection to that- so long as students also learn that the hands of feet of theives should be amputated on opposite sides, that a woman’s testimony is worth half that of a man’s, and that jihad allows non-Moslem women to be taken as sex slaves. Wouldn’t hurt to inform them that Mohammad had the adulterous woman stoned to death after her baby was weaned …. whereas Jesus said, “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

Regarding the Court’s lack of interest, I imagine they determined this was not religious indoctrination, but rather learning about Islam. It probably conforms with other cases that have appeared in federal courts over the past half century with respect to Judaism and Christianity.

The Supreme Court addresses law, not personal values or beliefs. Conservatives are very suspicious of justices who try to impose their personal values and beliefs on the law or, especially, the Constitution.

Nobody expects your values and beliefs to be determined by the Supreme Court, so you’ve got no reason to pat yourself on the back.

Maybe the teacher needs to be shown some love, peace and tolerance in a dirty basement by a few hundred jihadis, like the little girls in the UK. Her mind might just change after all that lovin’. Then again, she’s either a jihadi or a leftist, in either case, logic doesn’t compute, she’ll blame it on racism or something equally unrelated.

Here are two quotes from Scripture that may help answer/clarify your query:

Genesis 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became
a living soul.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than
any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of
soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Off topic – These Green on Blue attacks have been going on for 18 years in Afghanistan, Iraq and in Syria by KURDS and yet the media was SILENT on them, It started with, US General Raymond Odierno referring to the threat of “green-on-blue attacks” by Iraqi security forces on US personnel in Iraq in 2009 (Politico, 28 May). The has been happening in Iraq and Syria by our supposed friends – the Turds, er Kurds. The local security forces are supposed to be neutral, or green: not hostile, but not fully allies, either. So local native “neutral” security and natives we train to fight, turn their guns on OUR military and kill them. Getting out of the middle east won’t be too soon.

Another Green-on-Blue Attack
(This is true of Iraq and Syria)
July 10, 2018 John Bauer

The Afghan army, however, is plagued with high levels of both corruption and desertion among its ranks. … Over 6,000 U.S. troops run counter terrorism operations within Afghanistan in addition to another 8,000 that help train local military and police officials.
https://www.centerforsecuritypolicy.org/2018/07/10/another-green-on-blue-attack/

It is the natives that murder and maim OUR military trying to help them fight for their own country. The love it when we PAY for their arms and rebuild their cities etc. but HATE the infidel. It’s endless Muslim against Muslim fighting.
Imagine this has been going for decades over there and the MEDIA never said a word about it Muslims pretending to be on our side as we fight for them are doing this. Your tax dollars have been paying for this for DECADES!

And whether you work in the day or the night…..you still have the time you aren’t working to teach….

And to be fair….the Obama years were hard on families…some having to work two jobs….I understand. But people could still talk to their kids about the Constitution and who the enemy are and what they intend to do and how to avoid them.

This is the result of people, who come forward say the right words and then think they are headed to heaven. It matter snot whether in the Catholic Church or Protestant denominations. Those Catholics that depend only on what the Church says will be led down the path of destruction by this Marxist Pope. Similarly, Protestants will do the same. Only a remnant will be saved. Protestants point at Catholics, but where were the Protestants when FDR’s Hugo Black mis-used Jefferson’s letter to block them. Where were they when LBJ, the FDR protege, gave us the Johnson Amendment? I was amazed the Trump knew about this.. Where the Protestants when Madeline Murray O’Hare, a Marxist, ended prayer in schools? Where were they when Ginsburg insulted the Constitution? Same sex marriage? Crickets!
They were more interested in serving Mammon more than G-d. I just left a church due to a new pastor, in his 30s, who talks a good talk, but you can see he’s never been challenged. He’ll fold like a deck of cards when Beto takes away his tax exemption. He’ll perform same sex marriages before giving up his

1) Atheists have long held the argument that churches couldn’t put up crosses on public land, and also on military bases. They mostly succeeded. So how is it that schools push so much religion on kids? They should get it from parents.

2) It’s high time we started using the distasteful tactic of doxxing people like the teacher that forced students to recite the Koran.

I wonder if: a) the new Justices aren’t as rock-ribbed conservative as they’re made out to be, and/or b) this will be a portent of their hearing cases over so-called “transgender rights,” and will punt on that too, essentially giving a pass to “trans” supremacism over biological women. After all, if our elites capitulate on matters Islamic, they will likewise fall like dominoes to LGBTQ “leadership” seeking to overturn our Judeo-Christian foundations and replace them with their depraved Greenwich Village/San Francisco/Fire Island “values.” Not to mention in California and other states where children are being aggressively proselytized into the LGBTQ lifestyle – and NO opt out.

I admit, I am largely unschooled in the Supreme Court’s history Lee v Weisman or indeed about the considerable case law since Engle v Whoever. However, a quick look at that font of all earthly wisdom, ahem, Wikipedia, makes me wonder how it applies to a case that I presume is in the context of secular lessons. Here is why I say that:

t was the first major school prayer case decided by the Rehnquist Court. It held that schools may not sponsor clerics to conduct even non-denominational prayer.[1]

Based on Pamela’s description, I don’t think a cleric was involved in this assignment. I am assuming, although it is not completely specified, that the student was told to demonstrate knowledge of the shahada, not actually profess herself as a Moslem (and if she did that, her life would be in danger if she espoused Christianity- I simply don’t want to contemplate that we are so far down the road to perdition). So it’s not clear to me that Lee v Weisman applies, but I am more than happy to be educated (I just don’t want to research it).

And remember, 5-4 never settled anything!

The student was forced to view a series of Islam-promoting PowerPoint slides, including one casting aspersions on Christians that said, Most Muslims’ faith is stronger than the average Christian. It’s facts such as this that lead me to say that the Supreme Court failed. Thanks for reading.

including one casting aspersions on Christians that said, Most Muslims’ faith is stronger than the average Christian.

Ah- I am recalling bits and pieces I have heard of this case. Yes, that does sound appalling. I simply do not know enough to have an informed reaction to the Court’s decision not to review this, but it’s a strong argument for having a presense at the local school board and participatory democracy at the local level!

Added note:

This provides more about insight about this case:

https://clarionproject.org/supreme-court-declines-to-hear-case-promoting-islam-in-public-school/

In particular, I found the following of interest:

The curriculum also taught:

“Islam at heart is a peaceful religion.”

Jihad is a “personal struggle in devotion to Islam, especially involving spiritual discipline.”

“To Muslims, Allah is the same God that is worshiped in Christianity and Judaism.”

“Men are the managers of the affairs of women.”

“Righteous women are therefore obedient.”

The last two items probably would have been considered unremarkable in the United States a century or so ago.

You really don’t get it. Why has any hint of Christianity been removed from public schools (pledge of allegiance, etc.) , while islam has not only been given a pass but, promoted? Repeatedly across the country. If you hate anything Christian, just come out and say it. But don’t defend the imposition of one religion over another in public schools.

The Supreme Court is useless.

And how would you propose that questions about how the law applies to various situations? How would you resolve constitutional issues? [BTW, I think there is a better way to decide the latter than to have the Supremes decide …. but I’m wondering what your thoughts are.]

You raise a valid point. Though a priest, I believe in full separation of Church and State. I also think that when a church has tax-exempt status – not for the reasons Cory Booker or Beto O’Rourke have presented – makes one ambiguously apply the 1st Amendment.

Thanks, Fr. Mario.

Beto’s threat to remove the tax exemption from churches that do not support “reproductive rights” is very chilling and a prime example of the totalitarian impulse of “liberals”, in that curious American sense of the word.

Allow me to say that even though I am not Catholic, and am not exactly known for turning the other cheek to those on this site whom I consider to be goons, with all the hatred expressed on this site, it would be wonderful to have the perspective and counsel of a priest here!

Well, we have only so many cheeks to turn. The tax-exempt status always puts us at the whim of politicians. That being said, while I believe in political dialogue – not the misleading inter religious one that the Vatican pushes which is misleading to Christians to say the least – I’m far from ever being a pacifist. Perhaps this might be of interest https://thegreatarchitect.blog/2019/09/06/the-necessity-of-the-christian-crusades/

Fr. Mario-

Allow me to say I am very uneasy with you appearing on boards like this under your own name. You present as one deserving of your station, which should not provoke angry responses, but we live in a dangerous age. I appreciate you identifying yourself as a priest, something I had not picked up on until today, but please consider using a ‘nic on boards such as this.

Others Here of Goodwill-

We are truly blessed to have someone of Fr. Mario’s stature on this site. I did not connect a name on gellerreports with such a respected person until a moments ago. I would encourage people to check out his more public writings on sites such as Clarion Project:

I appreciate your point. I believe, however, since there’s so much political correctness with the church, I need to identify myself as who and what I am Angry and irrational responses will happen one way or the other, albeit, my clerical status me further agitating is. That being said, I also hold that fully identifying myself helps. If I may share this piece from Jihad Watch with you https://www.jihadwatch.org/2018/11/catholic-priest-islam-is-not-a-religion-of-peace-dialogue-is-useless-unless-the-quran-changes

Drip, drip a drop at a time, Islamization continues, we are heading the same way as soon-to-be Sharia Western Europe. Only the Eastern European countries who have experienced communist tyranny understand and block Muslims from entering. A simple rule- if a Muslim minority is present then will be strife and violence as the Devil’s cult is one pf perpetual grievance. We have the terrorist organization, CAIR, well financed and spreading the evil.

Who decides which cases are selected to be taken up by SCOTUS? We know John Roberts cannot be trusted.

We, the people, should return control of education back to the state and local level. Most Americans alive today have no experience with living in America when it was for more free and sensible.

John Acord

The force-feeding of myths and falsities concerning Islam is well advanced and it is pervasive. If you have not already read about how our children’s textbooks have been rewritten to glorify Islam and denigrate everything that is American I once again urge you to read and distribute this eye-opening article from Linda Goudsmit about Peterson Publishing and its control of the textbook market in the USA. Pearson plc, a public limited corporation, is a British multinational multi-billion dollar publishing powerhouse and the largest education company in the world. Pearson Publishing’s reported 2017 share in global revenues was $8.2 billion with a staggering 60% control of U.S. textbooks sales. It listed the Libyan Investment Authority as its largest financial contributor. Pearson is an anti-American, pro-globalism, antisemitic, pro-Muslim globalized education provider that is indoctrinating our American children.

Pearson is the premier global educational humanitarian huckster hawking its anti-American message of globalism to K-12 students and teachers in America. Its globalized curriculum comports to Obama’s pet Common Core Initiative Standards (CCIS). Globally, Common Core originated from the One World Education concept, a global goal orchestrated by the Connect All Schools program. Its origin is funded by the Qatar Foundation International (QFI) and supported by the United Nations Agenda 2030. This is how it works.May 15, 2019. The full expose is here:

SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!
Apparently isn’t given any credence in the Supreme Court. John Roberts needs to be tarred and feathered because of what he’s done to that Court. Thank you GW Bush for putting this idiot in as Chief ! (Sarc/)

When the Supreme Court stops enforcing the Constitution….stick a fork in America….we’re done.

Tell that to the Lebanese Christians whose country is now a muslum state or the Cypriot kafir who were ethnically cleansed by the Turkish muslum vermin, or the kafir of W. Papua New Guinea, or the millions of kafir being enslaved by f’ing muslums across Africa, or the Hindus and Sikhs who used to live in Kashmir — go ahead I dare you. After that make sure to tell them allah about the “good”, “honorable”, “decent” muslums that only exist in your supercilious fantasies.

The problem western countries have is decency, courtesy and compassion for our fellow man. Those qualities play right into the hands of exploiters like Islam; A cult that brings nothing to the table of humanity. The answer to our problem is the total reversal of our policy towards Islam and to begin the process of education and eradication.

Eradication has a chilling resonance. I do believe that there is the possibility of an Islamic Reformation, as distant as that may appear right now. How to promote that is a very complex matter, but I think we see the seeds of it today.

Whether or not those seeds can flourish- and what the non-Islamic world can do to promote it- is a complex issue that lurks in the back of my mind. Remember, it was a mere blink in time that Catholics and Prostestants were killing each other primarily over religion.

MuhamMUDTheFakeProphet

Yeah, after ten centuries of uninterrupted ethnic cleansing, genocide, slavery and terrorism your belief in an “Islamic Reformation” certainly does seem reasonable. I’ll tell ya what, you get ur “honorable”, “decent”, “secular” muslums together as well as yourself and begin traveling the islamic world preaching your reformed islam. Don’t be a worm, get the ball rolling on your fantasy.
