Methodist University Hires a Muslim Chaplain

More suicidal “outreach”. Where is the reciprocity? Ever see a priest or rabbi proselytizing at madrassa or Islamic college? Ever?

Methodist University Hires a Muslim Chaplain

The word Christian means something to me. Likewise, the word Islam means something to my Muslim friends. And although we are friends, we also recognize that our religions are not one and the same. In fact, the claims of Christianity and Islam contradict each other, meaning that both religions are not equally valid; both can’t be right. Shenandoah University, a Methodist school, believes that Christianity and Islam are equally valid and that their students will benefit from the spiritual guidance of both. To help facilitate this, Shenandoah University has hired a Muslim chaplain. By doing so, the Methodist institution signals that Christianity means nothing to them.

Located in Winchester, Va., Shenandoah University boldly proclaims on its website that “Shenandoah University is one of six United Methodist Church-affiliated institutions of higher education in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The spiritual life team is dedicated to calling, forming and sending leaders for tomorrow’s church and world, offering a wide mixture of programs throughout the academic year.”

Story continues below advertisement

I say “boldly” because it requires a level of hubris to take the tithes of Methodists and claim to use those tithes to form and send “leaders for tomorrow’s church” all while showing utter contempt for the Christianity they claim to believe. In the press release announcing the hiring of Hanaa Unus to serve as chaplain and Muslim community coordinator, the school explains:

Unus will work with both Muslim and non-Muslim students to address their spiritual care and needs, creating a safe and understanding space where they can practice their faith and discuss their concerns. She will work with Rev. Dr. Allen and the Office of Spiritual Life on education through interfaith programs.

The school can couch the hiring of Unus in as many leftist buzz-words as they want; that doesn’t change the fact that her hiring demonstrates that Shenandoah University does not care about the spiritual well-being of their students. Christianity teaches that there is only one way for humans to restore their broken relationship with God and enjoy eternal life, and that way is through repentance of sins and faith in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Islam teaches that’s not true.

The spiritual guidance that students at a Christian university should be receiving is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Methodist parents who send their children to Shenandoah University should be mortified that during those times when their child is hurting, confused, and questioning, their spiritual leadership may very well come from a Muslim chaplain. Think about it: when a homesick freshman who is struggling goes to Unus, will that hurting student be directed toward Jesus? No, of course not. And, frankly, it would be unfair to expect Unus to do so.

Spiritual relativism masked by the desire for “diversity” is leading people to hell. Shenandoah University is using the tithes of Methodists around this country to deny students the gospel of Jesus Christ and, instead, to point them to a false religion.

A logical thinking person would think that the U.S. would not allow Muslims to immigrate here after 9/11. That was a BIG warning against Islam, yet instead, Bush stood on the rubble of 3,000 lives and declared “Islam is a religion of peace.” What a hideous fool he was! And then Obama brought them into this country by the 10’s of thousands and packed Minnesota and Michigan with them. The are ALL wanting jihad and anyone believing otherwise is brainless! They’re patient and they WILL attempt a country-wide jihad. It WILL happen!!

Age of consent varies widely–a legal construct. Last time I looked, for example, France didn’t have one. Mo’s hardly the only religious icon to have tastes that upset ye the virtuous.

You don’t mention if you are for or against. I personally think that no matter who or when, it’s a pretty disgusting thing, and for any “man of God”, it is particularly offensive. The big difference between Christianity and Islam on this subject, is that the scriptures of one supports it and the other threatens the early century version of “cement shoes”. Mo was sick in the head and in the heart.
BTW, France has an 18yr old legal consent limitation and a 15yr old parental consent that the country is looking to do away with.

As of 2018 France had no legal age of consent so I’ll accept your last statement on advisement. The point is, these laws though promoted as well intentioned are often very whimsical. Closer to home, the age of consent was 14 in Canada until about a dozen years ago when the Canadian Conservative government (in an excess of virtue signalling) changed it to 16 and then had to make a laughable addendum of additional rules to make sure the courts didn’t get caught in ridiculous traps. In Christian Europe–even long after Mo’s time–consent laws (where they existed) were sometimes pre-teen. Not my intention to defend Mo but some of the Christians weren’t so far off. Didn’t see it covered in the 10 C’s and can’t remember Christ saying much about it.

I hope you’re not as insufferable in person as you appear to be in print – not that it matters though.
You make the same mistake as many do. While adherents ought to reflect the tenets of their beliefs, they often do not. Many wicked things were done in the “name” of Christianity but the only true measure is not in men’s behavior, it is in the written scriptures pertaining to those beliefs.
Christ says in Math. 18:6, Mark 9:42, that causing a “little one” to fall into sin” would invoke a terrible punishment. The age of a “little one” is not defined, but Mo married Aisha when she was 6 and raped her at 9, I think the definition fits.

As far as France goes, as if it matters, a Google search is all I did.

Why so long winded seeing that you don’t defend Mo.? You strike me as one who is proud of his “superior knowledge”. Are you an atheist?

No, but my Christ apparently sees more shades than yours. Looking at how the creep legal community perverts such laws to raid the public purse, encourage false witness, for example (and thoughtful types have other legitimate caveats ) many of us speculate in sum they achieve more evil than good.

We are talking about the sexual abuse of minors, kids, and you claim “my Christ sees more shades than yours”. I am dumbfounded that you would even attempt such a connection; perhaps you meant something else, but if not and you believe such, just what scripture would you stake such a false claim on, seeing that you provided none so far.

You proceed to then cite perversions of the law that are unjust, and rightly so, but from what you have said so far, you are doing a gross perverting of your own on this issue of sex with minors. On the risk of condemning yourself by your own words, clarify your statement or stand thusly accused.

The Master Communicator has spoken! I have given you as much benefit of the doubt as I can stretch it into, and more than enough chances to explain your position, yet you won’t or can’t clarify yourself. Instead, it’s my fault that I’m “too dumb” to understand a “mastermind” like yours.

I wondered at first if I was in the wrong to call you “insufferable”, but I think you have validated that. You also have a perverted view on this topic, and your claim of “my Christ” is not the Christ of the Bible.

The alumni of Shenandoah University should demand the immediate resignation and replacement of the school’s leadership. This university has obviously taken a hard “left turn” that is most likely contrary to it’s founding principles. This must be corrected by returning to Christian principles if there’s any hope of saving the schools reputation. Besides that, why are moslems attending a Christian university? I know, there are several good answers and none are good for the university.

for the last 60 years, the methodist church has been a whitewashed tomb and provided cover for democrats who want to wear the “christian” label. i was raised in a methodist church long ago, and left it 50 years ago. the truth that we will be judged by God and that there is a hell, as Jesus clearly tells us, is repugnant to the methodist church. there is a line at the end of the movie “the usual suspects” where the evil character tells the audience that “the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince people he doesn’t exist”. well, the devil pulled that trick on the methodist church long ago.

“Spiritual relativism masked by the desire for “diversity” is leading people to hell. Shenandoah University is using the tithes of Methodists around this country to deny students the gospel of Jesus Christ and, instead, to point them to a false religion.”

This is such a shame. Shenandoah University is embracing the great prostitute, the Harlot religion that will sweep the globe and intoxicate the inhabitants of the earth with the wine of her adulteries.

In other words, this university is being purged from the Body of Christ and joining with the enemies of Yahweh. This purge will bring about a purification in Christian churches and the faithful. Beware Shenandoah University, the Harlot religion will one day become drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. Once the church is free from weak, dull and phony believers, the Bride of Christ will walk in truth and power!

In time, the great Harlot will be murdered by the Antichrist and all mankind will be instructed to worship this beast. Shenandoah University faculty will no doubt bow to the earth and kiss the Antichrist’s feet.

It is very unpleasant to witness in real time biblical prophecy being fulfilled as we approach the end of this age. How’s that for a Monday morning sermon. 😉

I understand the “confusion” at seeing the decay, but don’t forget to rejoice too, Luke 21:28, “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift your heads, because your redemption draws near”. We are going to see what our ancestors longed to see, the return of Christ. Hallelujah !!!!

Amen and amen! And the saints cry out, day and night, “Come Lord Jesus! Come!” How I long for the day when our Lord and Savior will drive evil off this planet! The saved and the earth itself are groaning for the redemption spoken about, and promised in Roman 8:18-24.

Imagine a “Christian” establishment promoting and glorifying that when Muslim men die for Allah they go to heaven and get 72 Virgins…..I’m not sure how that university can reconcile that with Christianity in their heads…..and what does that say to the young women at their school? And what does that say to young men about the worth of a woman. If my daughter or son went there I would remove them immediately.

Oh yes ladywarrior, if I had a child in the university I would do the same. When we break it all down, what the leaders of this university are implying, by their actions, to the students is that the Word of God/Yahweh is not trustworthy and is not the complete manifestation of truth to mankind.

There has been a merciless attack on the authority of the Scriptures for decades now; from without and within the church, and much of the church has been so intimidated by the lies coming against the Word that they have bowed to the lies rather than fight the lies. And it is my observation that believers have complied with the world in so many instances because of their lack of knowledge…and perhaps laziness in seeking out the means to defend their faith.

allah is not the god of the Bible, he is the demonic manifestation of satan, who will one day introduce the world to the Antichrist and False Prophet. These believers who ignore what is happening, who fail to devour the scroll, and submit to the lies concerning islam; will one day follow the Antichrist to their eternal doom. We must teach out children that islam is demonic and that the Warrior King will one day serve them their doom! Praise God! 🙂

It has been very nice chatting with you. I pray that Yahweh shower upon you all spiritual and physical blessings, and grant upon you the precious gift of discernment. 🙂 One day you and I will meet in heaven, or on the New Earth, whichever comes first for us. 🙂

Voltaire understood the vicious founding is islam and its sinister agenda. Divergent, this quote is exactly what George W. Bush should have repeated after the 9/11 attacks.

islam takes the darkest of mankind’s passions and thrusts them into accepted and insisted upon dogma. Christianity is the exact opposite, where we strive to walk in the Light that opposes what is dark and ugly in our fallen nature. It is not a question of islam being an off shoot of what was written in Yahweh’s Word, but rather a battle between what is good, true and pure vs what is murderously violent and hate-filled.

How tragic it is to witness this satanic agenda being tolerated and even embraced by our government, schools and universities, media and even Christian churches.

I imagine that you have the philosophy firmly established in your soul that we must know our enemy in order to defeat him. Unfortunately, for the most part, America and the world is ignoring that battle cry!

Thank you for your blessing….I need that help. i am about to enter a great legal battle against people who killed my Dad with abuse and neglect…..I and my siblings had first tried to free him, but a drunken brother and his family worked with the corrupt in that small town to prevent us from saving him. He was a good and kind Christian Dad….he was their prisoner for 5 years…..he did not deserve to go that way.
We have never given up….and now enter the court room to right these wrongs….and see the evil exposed.
I’ll take all the prayers I can get. :0)

One of the greatest issues of today is the huge debt that students incur obtaining a college education and the fact that tuition costs have exceeded the cost of living by several times. Much of this is overhead, and a lot of this overhead is generated by salaries and expenses incurred with the addition of faculty and staff that serves no purpose, In this case, the addition of an Imam at a Christian university is not only an additional expense for which all the students will pay but serves no purpose whatsoever except to push a cult that is raining terror in the country and the world and any other place where they settle.

I sometimes feel like asking myself, “Am I missing something here?” The blatant blindness, the loony logic, the hypocritical heresy, the obvious obtuse overview (of Islam), and the demented dwindling discernment (3 pairs and 2 triples), that so characterizes the left, the lame-brained, the blind beguiling the blind, and the elite elected eviscerated eunuchs empowered to lead by example (ok I’m done, but don’t forget to send donations), defies commonsense.

All joking aside, the pulpit has generally (there are exceptions) and shamefully led the congregations astray. In Europe and the UK, it has reached the point of apostasy and their cultures will inevitably collapse because of it. The “invasion”, the embrace of humanism and all its vile tethers, are symptoms of the underlying decay of the foundations. No nation(s) that diminishes the family, the core of society, that kills its unborn, and denies God in the public and political square, can have any hope of His blessings or even survival. These same dangers now threaten our shores too – our time is shorter than we think. Once our “reprieve” is over, the descent will begin again with renewed and emboldened vigor.

The parents should be mortified that by the time their child goes to university they are still “hurting, confused and questioning”. Grow up parents and realize your own faith calls you to “train up your children in the admonition of the Lord”. If you were doing that they would not need spiritual advisors or counsellors at college but instead would call their parents for the advice and counsel they need outside of their own personal walk with Jesus Christ. beholdyourgod.org
