Mamdani’s Islamic hatred of the Jewish people is so relentless that even a statement mourning Jews murdered by Hamas becomes another indictment of the Jewish state. He offers a few words of grief, then unloads the familiar blood libels: genocide, apartheid, occupation, American complicity. On the anniversary of October 7, that pivot is especially obscene: the murdered become a rhetorical steppingstone to prosecuting their own country. His statement reveals a sickness — whatever the occasion, the Jews must end up in the dock.

I accuse the ideologues of the left who made hatred of the Jewish state a badge of virtue. I accuse the academics who dressed antisemitism in the robes of scholarship, and the media voices who cast Jewish self-defense as criminal while laundering terrorist murder as “resistance.” Their words helped cultivate a moral climate in which the slaughter of Jews could be justified, applauded and, finally, celebrated. October 7 was the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust—and still these merchants of moral inversion turn the victims into defendants and the butchers into heroes. Three years later, the bloodshed has taught them nothing; even the anniversary becomes an occasion for celebration. Let them answer for every euphemism that dignified the killers, every libel that dehumanized their victims, every lecture that demanded Jewish restraint while excusing Hamas barbarism. A civilization that finds excuses for the massacre of Jews is putting its own conscience on trial.

Standing with the Jewish people is now a risk of career suicide.

The nation that issued the Balfour Declaration, fought Nazi Germany and helped make possible the restoration of the Jewish homeland now has a Muslim member of Parliament demanding British military action against the Jewish state—while drawing a grotesque equivalence between Israel and Hamas. What would Balfour say of a Britain threatening the country his declaration helped bring into being? What would Churchill say of Parliament contemplating the use of British arms against the Jews, whose national restoration he defended, even as they fight enemies openly committed to their destruction? They would scarcely recognize this broken, self-repudiating country—a Britain that has abandoned its history, betrayed its allies and surrendered the moral confidence that once made it great

There’s a peculiar sort of courage in the world today: the courage to denounce those who are unlikely to murder you for doing so. The participants are fearless. They scream at Jewish students, deface Jewish businesses, drive Jewish speakers from public events and demand that Israelis be removed from respectable life (restaurants, resorts, hotels). Then they congratulate themselves on having confronted power. Power, in this instance, being a nineteen-year-old student wearing a Star of David, or a couple dining out, a family on vacation, young people out having a good time. The same heroism is rather harder to locate when writers are threatened, teachers forced into hiding, women intimidated, gay people persecuted, apostates marked for death or Muslim reformers denounced as traitors. The thing is, confronting an ideology capable of answering criticism with violence carries inconveniences. Police protection may become necessary, your life may be in danger.

Far safer to confront the Jews. Jews will argue. They will write letters, contact lawyers, complain to university authorities and ask the police to enforce laws already on the books. They may produce a report, organise a panel discussion or request a meeting. Such terrifying reprisals. And so the moral exhibitionist can enjoy all the excitement of persecution without any of its actual danger. He can spit venom at Jews while imagining himself to be standing before the tanks in Tiananmen Square.

Muslim Jew hatred is an existential threat to Jews in Canada (and everywhere Muslims are in large number.)

This is a damning indictment of what the Democratic Party has become.

The irony is that if it were not due in large part to Winston’s strenuous efforts and fearless leadership during WWII the culprit would not be able to do anything of this sort because the Wehrmacht would be holding annual victory parades goose-stepping down the Mall, the SS would have eliminated anyone likely to commit such a disrespectful act and any subversives left would have been introduced to the Gestapo.

It is not hyperbole to say that the modern Democrat party echoes the same poisonous ideologies that fueled some of history’s darkest chapters. Today’s left draws from the same hateful tropes and dehumanizing narratives that once paved the way for catastrophe.

One cannot ignore the disturbing echoes between universities in pre-war Germany and what has unfolded on American campuses today. Then, Jewish faculty, scholars and students were marginalized, harassed, and ultimately pushed out as institutions surrendered to ideological fanaticism.

He is moving so decisively in his early days and every move is anti-Jewish.
