A stepfather who slammed his 12-year-old’s school for making her write a letter about ‘converting to Islam’ has been called a ‘racist bigot’ and is terrified of violent repercussions.
Story continues below advertisementMark McLachlan, 43, complained to Kepier School in Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland when he found the homework task in his stepdaughter’s planner.
He refused to let her finish the ‘letter to my family about converting to Islam’, claiming it was ‘brainwashing’ her about the religion and did not see what it would achieve.
But since posting about it on social media he says he has received a lot of abuse.
He told MailOnline: ‘My wife and I are terrified of the repercussions.
‘Any time anybody says anything negative about Islam they are torn to shreds.
‘I’ve been called a racist and a bigot, but I’m just terrified for my children and for the way this country is going.
‘In 50 years time I can see Britain becoming an Islamic state and my children and grandchildren are still going to be alive – I don’t want them wearing a niqab.’
Mr McLachlan, who has been with the 12-year-old’s mother for five years, said he was particularly outraged by the task because he thinks she is being given a ‘false representation of Islam’.
He added: ‘She was told to google ‘Why should I convert to Islam’, but if she had researched both sides and googled ‘Why shouldn’t I convert to Islam’ she wouldn’t have been able to sleep.
‘I’ve done it and the stuff that comes up is horrific.
‘My stepdaughter is coming home talking about the Prophet Muhammad and halal meat saying Islam is the religion of peace.
‘But if she watched the news and knew about all the atrocities Islam has caused all over the world, she would know it isn’t the religion of peace at all.’
The stepfather, who also has a daughter, stressed he has ‘nothing but respect’ for the deputy head of Kepier School, who was ‘completely understanding of his concerns.
He told MailOnline the teacher has agreed to hold a meeting to review the task and address his concerns.
Mr McLachlan has slammed the decision by the Kepier School (pictured) to ask pupils to pen the note. The principal replied: ‘At Kepier we feel it is very important to introduce our learners to all faiths and cultures and we do this throughout the academic year’
Nicola Cooper, the school’s principal, said: ‘At Kepier we feel it is very important to introduce our learners to all faiths and cultures and we do this throughout the academic year.
‘For example, next week we will be celebrating all faiths during National Inter Faith Week.
‘We welcomed Mr McLachlan into school earlier this week and were happy to explain to him how we explore all faiths and cultures.
‘Our Culture and Wellbeing programme of study is in line with the National Curriculum and we believe it provides the basis for a broad, balanced and engaging introduction to the areas typically taught in RE and PSHCE.’
Mr McLachlan replied: ‘I know as part of the national curriculum they have to learn about all religions.
‘I just don’t see why they should ask a child to write a letter addressed to their family about converting to another religion. I really just don’t see what the letter will gain.
‘If they want children to learn about Islam, then go teach them all about it and its history.
‘What I don’t want is a school asking my stepdaughter to look into reasons for converting to another religion.
‘Like every parent, it is our decision on how we raise them and once they are old enough to make decision, then it is there choice.’

Mr McLachlan visited the school to raise his concerns and was told that this was part of the curriculum and was shown example exam questions for Islam, Christianity and Hinduism.
The homework came to light when Mr McLachlan was looking through the youngster’s school planner and saw the teacher has written the task to be handed in on November 8.
He added: ‘When I saw this assignment in the planner, written by the teacher, you could have knocked me over with a feather.
‘I told her she will not be completing it and she is more worried about getting detention.
‘We send our kids to school to get a good education and use what they have learnt to have a good career.
‘I have no problem with them learning about religions but I feel they should not be asking 12-year-olds writing to their parents about why they are converting.
‘I just found the task wholly inappropriate.’
Mr McLachlan took a picture of the assignment and posted it online, where it has been shared hundreds of times.
One user commented: ‘Would they go to a Muslim school and ask them to write a letter to their parents about converting to Catholic? I doubt it!
‘Children should not be made to write letters about converting to any religion for any reason.’
Another user said: ‘Isn’t part of RE to research, investigate and teach about all religions?
‘I feel like this homework is just an exercise about converting to another religion. That’s been blown way out of proportion.’
Mr McLachlan, who lives in Houghton-le-Spring, insisted he only complained because he is ‘worried about the children of Britain’.
He said: ‘I’m just worried about mine, yours and anyone else’s children.
‘They’ve eradicated anyone and anything that isn’t Muslim in the Middle East, but they’re taking over this country as well.
‘I want my children to have an objective view of all religions.
‘Education is about learning things not about brainwashing.’

That’s wonderful, sir.. I’m sure your young charges are well schooled in the koranic teaching to kill the kuffar whereever they may be found. Or the hadiths that instruct the faithful to convert, kill, or subdue the kuffar until they submit willingly and pay the jizya. Or the various halachic discussions of the proper method of wife beating, along with the explicit advocacy in the Koran of taking women of vanquished people as sex slaves. He’s gone about this all wrong. He should have had her quote the quaran about molesting children being a divine right (quaran 56:11-18 – quaran 76:17-20 ) and whata blessing from Allah it says it is. and have her declare in her school essay ” I want to be treated worse than a Donkey ” ( quoting Aisha from SahilAl Bukhari ) and “I desire to be beaten by my husband and be treated as inferior like I dont matter ” ( quoting relevant quaran verses ) ” I cant wait to go to hell because as a woman thats where mohammed says I will end up because ” women are stupid and ungrateful to their husbands “-Mohammed. because we all know in our scientific age how accurate Mohammeds sayings about water being pure and talking ants are dont we ? Maybe it’s because I’m not a young European woman, but I still don’t understand how Islam holds such attraction for so many younger females in the West. It is quite…disturbing, how many converts there have been in recent years, if you’ve been paying attention.

I think part of the attraction maybe young girls like the machoness and see around them feminized guys. In the teen years they are easily charmed. They are thinking of romance and the guys are obsessed with sex and getting experience. Young girls don’t want to hear that at that age. Also some think they know better than their parents. So there is some rebellion going on a well as peer pressure. Frankly I have yet to see an attractive young Muslim male. Hey, sometimes even the devil can be charming….

Or maybe they just have some serious daddy issues, who knows? Personally, I guess they are legally free to believe what they want, but I generally hold such women in low esteem, Islam is not a source of strength for anyone, and it has destroyed many innocent lives and families.

That’s because more people who talk about their religion are honest. Islam is a sales pitch… a young girl likes a “nice” Muslim guy when then tells her what a wonderful religion Islam is. They convince the girl that the west lies about Islam and how Islam respects women. In their outreach training, the Muslims are told not to explain the hard parts of Islam. This is taqiya, deceit, to hide the true intent of Islam. Then once they’ve converted to Islam, they are forbidden to leave Islam.. a detail that is often denied or obfuscated. If the girl then goes to an Islamic country (after marriage or to get married) then they are trapped and it is difficult for them to get out.
Probably the biggest contributing factor, and why places like the UK and the rest of the EU doesn’t want anybody talking about it, is ignorance. If you maintain ignorance of Islam, then you can tell the ignorant masses that Islam is “the religion of peace” (implying there is nothing in Islamic doctrine that prescribes violence against non-Muslims when Islamic doctrine is full of prescribed mistreatment of non-Muslims) and the ignorant masses believe this nonsense.
Most countries have no freedom of speech and no right to protect oneself… and many of their leaders and their main stream media lie to them about Islam. Those leaders then they embrace Islam as a religion to displace Christianity because of their hatred of Christianity. By doing so, their leaders are setting up their countries to be subjugated by Islam. When that happens the ruling Left will be at a loss as to how it happened that their idea of utopia was stolen from them right when they thought there were going to achieve it… in other words, they thought they were going to use Islam to achieve their ends but it will be Islam, thanks to these useful idiots, who will achieve theirs.

WOW! That is a tender age and they are abusing their authority role.
Sometimes I feel like I am living in the Twilight Zone. This is totally bizarre and out of line.
They really do want us to convert to this filth. I never felt good enough to wear a cross, and I have a beautiful one, but that may change in the near future. In no way shape or form would I ever want to be identified as a Muslim or be viewed as an advocate for this sadistic ideology.

The father should do the assignment from the vantage point of a young muslim girl – “First I will be sold to the highest bidder and raped repeatedly. By the time I am 12, I will have several children of my own. I will never be allowed to speak my mind, drive a car, or walk outside unaccompanied by a man. I will don the customary black potato sack and remain invisible for my adult life, for if I don’t, I will be put to death in the most heinous and painful fashion possible.”

The father of this young student has the absolute right to refusing to let his daughter writing about converting to Islam.
The irony is, the so-called educators are propagandists, the school would deny her/students to write about conversion to Christianity, Judaism or other faiths. One imagines if a student were to utter a word about Christ suspension would follow.
The courageous and principled father is an excellent father to this young girl. Ironically, Britain is underfoot of an oppressive government, Fascist-Progressivism which, in turn, is underfoot of Islam, a depraved and evil theocracy, professing religiosity but is a verifiable, apocalyptic Cult.

A few years ago I heard a story about how a local school (near the area I lived in then) had organised a visit to a mosque (???). All the kids whose parents refused to let them go where dragged onto the stage at a school assembly and denigrated in front of everyone by the headmaster.
Had that been my child, I would have gone to the next assembly, and beaten that a$$hole back to the 7th century with his own cane, in front of everybody.

If parents choose not to investigate or partake in their children’s education, the consequences would, likely, be dire. So-called educators are an integral factor in the dissemination of Islam and its ominous tenets to students’ malleable minds.

We have two granddaughters and constantly worry about the dumbed-down curriculum and the stripping away of Judeo-Christian principles while promoting and glorifying Islam on one hand and godlessness on the other. I’m certain your daughter will flourish. Take care.

Thank you. She’s 28, married, working and happy. And she knows her own mind and speaks it plainly. (Some might say too plainly, but she is her mother’s daughter, after all.)
At the end of the day, I really think home schooling is probably the only way forward, especially with the idiot curriculum, the brainwashing, and all the lefty ‘right-on’ garbage.
I know people older than my daughter who can’t even spell simple 3 syllable words! To me, that disgusting.

Your efforts garnered great success; it is reassuring to hear some positivity, we all need it. Indeed, if one does not stand up for one’s rights, there are those who will readily snatch it away. Good for your daughter’s no-nonsense approach. There are students graduating from high school or college who cannot spell, grammar is a no-no but I wager they can rattle off much of Marx’s manifesto in part or its entirety. With a heavy heart, I take pen in hand, to tell you of my decision to convert to mohammedanism. I became enamored with this, when I learned that they would hold me down and chop out my clitoris. Then, it was explained that it was solely for the purpose of keeping me “pure”. Moreover, when I was informed of the death penalty, should I ever decide to leave mohammedanism, it became dearer and dearer to my heart. My friends son was taught about mohamed in school at the age of ten, the teacher told all the children that mohamed was a peacefull man with 4 children who married a 45 year old. More deception from within.

Can one imagine the reaction of Muslim parents if the same letter was given to a Muslim child about converting to another religion! Are these teachers completely ignorant?
How would a person know about converting to Islam unless they had been instructed in how to do it anyway? Are they teaching her about FGM as well?
I can easily imagine what kind of people are abusing him, liberals and left wingers who are willfully ignorant about the realities of Islam. I am sure he has plenty of support from responsible parents as well

I wouldn’t allow my daughter to take religious education when she was at school. I felt I could teach her much more accurately myself. Of course, this was before all this islam bulls**t was fashionable.
If she had ever come home with this kind of garbage, I would have gone to the school and (verbally) kicked the c**p out of whoever insisted she learn it.

Learning about religions is one thing, asking someone to ‘pretend’ to convert is another. And, what light are they showing any given religion in? Positive or negative? Also, they should not be teaching about religion at all. That is just some of the problem with this. But in that case like it says, go to a muslim school and give an assignment asking the kids to write a letter about converting to Christianity, and see how that goes over. islam is an evil religion and no one should convert to it anyway. Christianity is the religion of peace. islam is the religion of bloody jihad. As a Christian I will NEVER allow my kids to write a letter about converting to ANY other religion, because even pretending to do that is against our religion. (If they grow up and decide for themselves that is their decision.) If anyone doesn’t understand that, then THEY are the ‘racists,’ and the ‘bigots’! Not us! Good for him for standing up to that lunacy!
