American schools are proselytizing for Islam in the classroom. This dangerous trend has been increasing over the past ten years, to a point where innocent children are being forced to say the shahada and learning the central tenets of Islam. Other religions are given short shrift, and the little attention they are given is negative and wrong.
Religion has no place in the public school. It is a violation of the establishment clause. And the islamization of the school curriculum is disarming American children in the gravest threat to their future.

Filing Calls For Public Hearings On Islam-Biased And Anti-Semitic Teaching MaterialsNEWTON, MASSACHUSETTS – Citing Section 10-2 of the Newton CityCharter, hundreds of the city’s residents have filed a petition demanding that its School Committee take measures to address and repair damage caused by its widely publicized flawed curriculum on the Middle East and world religions. Petitioners are concerned about the use of Islam-biased, anti-Semitic and anti-Israel instructional materials, and by the failure of Newton’s public schools to teach students objectively and without proselytization or propaganda.
According to the City Charter, the School Committee must hold a public hearing and act upon the petition within 90 days. The petition details the long struggle by residents to correct the skewed curriculum, and calls for a number of actions by the School Committee to remedy the present process for selecting textbooks and other learning materials which are inaccurate and tainted, and overseeing the manner in which they are introduced in K-12 classrooms. The petition is available in its entirety by contacting Karen Hurvitz, spokesperson for Education Without Indoctrination, the organization that gathered the signatures for the petition ([email protected]).
In addition to the Newton residents, there were also well over a thousand people outside of Newton who signed the petition. “It just goes to show how much widespread support there is for Newton residents in their protracted conflict over these issues with their unrelenting School Committee,” Ms. Hurvitz observes. “Unfortunately, Newton has become the center of nationwide attention but for all the wrong reasons,” Ms. Hurvitz adds, referring to an ongoing lawsuit on open-meeting law violations against its School Committee, and irregularities with their extension of the contract of controversial School Superintendent David Fleishman. A trial on whether or not the Court should nullify the extension is scheduled for October 11th.

Another well reasoned article by Pamela. My greatest concern, after reading this article, is why are any of our secular schools allowing religious beliefs and writings to become a part of the curriculum to begin with. I recognize that our Constitution definitively separates religion from government control, and it should result in disallowing any public education system from promoting or teaching any particular beliefs that are related to any particular religion, but the duty to promote any religion should always be the responsibility of the child’s parents. It is mortifying to me that the Newton school district is facing the type of petition that is the subject of this article. If we allow this conduct to continue we will be opening a “Pandora’s box” in violation of our Constitution and the fact that history has established that whenever government and religion join, they tend to adversely impact one and other. Though I believe that a civics class might be expected to discuss our civil and criminal law in a way that it conforms to the appropriate morals and conduct expected from American citizens, public government funded schools should never add to its curriculum any study of any particular religion. That way they avoid violating our Constitution. That type of study should be parent controlled. To the extent that any religious belief preaches violent conduct, it should be the judicial departments responsibility to prosecute or act according to our civil law to stop that violent preaching.

Excellent comment, Dennis. The people in Newton who are aware of and concerned with what has been going on in their schools have been fighting this battle for years. Fortunately they are very determined, principled, extremely well informed as they must be to effectively confront these perpetrators, well organized, and they refuse to give up. I agree that no public school should require that students study any particular religion except in a strictly historical context. People who complain that “they took God out of the schools!” and want their own religions’ prayers imposed on students should study the experience of these children, parents, and activists in Newton and be very, very careful what they wish for.

A couple of big questions need to be asked and answered in this problem of Islamic Indoctrination in public schools. One question is what Islamic groups are pushing this agenda in the classrooms. These groups need to be stopped. Also what groups and countries are paying for all this Islamic teaching material. These groups and countries need to be stopped. From what little I have heard a large amount of money for this Islamic teaching material is coming from the countries of Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Public Schools should not be accepting money and teaching material from foreign countries.

You nailed it! More likely than not Saudi Arabia is involved. Saudi money is paying for many of the mosques being built all over the place in every state. They’re building more and more so the Muslims to come will have many places to pray. Their goal is to become the dominant religion in the US. I read by 2050 they will be the second largest religion outnumbering Judaism. If a Democrat is elected as president again it’ll be sooner. That’s what we get for bringing in a people that will not assimilate and believes Sharia is above the US constitution. It’s not going to end well!

There’s nothing accidental about this. I am betting that quasi-jihadi organizations like CAIR have muscled into school districts around the country and arm-twisted school boards into setting the curriculum of their choice, most probably by claiming that infidels cannot know anything about Islam so they have no right to do so. A thorough investigation has to be conducted to find out who was behind all of this and the truth will come out. It just boggles my mind that the mere mention of Jesus at any school is enough to bring the ACLU warriors out to defend separation of church and state and this blatant proselytizing on behalf of Islam does not even bring up a murmur from them.

WTH! I’ve known about this and having talking about it. Glad to see some parents are finally waking up and realizing that Islam is being shoved down children’s throats while Christianity and Judaism are pretty much being ignored. Heck I read awhile ago about a kid being reprimanded for passing out valentines with Bible verses in them. You know the liberals can’t have that! Where’s the big mouth ACLU when you need them? They’d be all over it if they were teaching either Christianity or Judaism in school in detail like they do with Islam. It’s total BS! Why are teachers not speaking out? They must see what’s wrong with this. I just don’t get it!

Good luck to those parents, those “teachers” like too many in UK, should never be allowed near a classroom or children unless or until they teach the verses of the sword explaining what those words have inspired the “faithful” to do over the last 1400 years {including in America}.
Left wing academia produces hard left teachers – by attacking them for their selective standards, you defend both the administration, what it’s trying to achieve and yourselves too. Go for it.

I support the teaching of the founding Christian principles of the American Republic in American schools because those core beliefs were held and honoured by the founding fathers as well as those who wrote your constitution.
If you cannot teach your children in school why the society they will one day inherit the management of what underpins the degree of tolerance and respect for science and learning that Christian belief encourages, how do they defend in their turn what they don’t understand or appreciate ? Over the last 50 years, I’ve witnessed in the UK the collapse of Christian understanding and belief in its message because teachers didn’t believe in it, they replaced it with “humanities” and a socialist slant on equality which has excused many alien criminal beliefs.
What drove those who wrote the Constitution was the fear that the old divide between Catholicism and Protestantism would resurface in the new world, I don’t believe they saw Islamic belief coming in the way it has or the threat it poses to your future.

President Jefferson saw it and was appalled.
He did much to battle the Islamic states of that time but he should have legislated at that point’ and we wouldn’t have the homegrown outrages that we have today.

So Islam is allowed to be taught in schools, but if a student brings a Bible to school to read on his own time, that’s not allowed.
All this started after 9/11 when GWB claimed Islam was a ‘religion’ of peace.. and people bent over backwards to accommodate muslim practices, including our schools.
Not only do they not teach about other religions, they schools are whitewashing Islam, ignoring the fact it is a violent culture and equating it to the other religions of the world. Islam has never been peaceful.. But try telling that to the liberal nuts teaching America’s children…

Absolutely right. It’s still good law, and completely applicable.
And the President gets to decide which immigration to restrict because we presume that he, more than anyone else in the entire nation, has the greatest knowledge of the threats facing country (via his daily briefings).
And a “Religious Test”? Absolutely PERFECT, when determining immigration. The “no religious test” only applies to eligibility for public office.
