Philadelphia news outlets are heralded the appointment of Salima Suswell, “first Muslim woman to serve on the Pennsylvania Commission for Women.” All well and good. But Salima Suswell also serves as an executive committee member for terror-tied Council of American Islamic Relations, unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorist funding trial in our nation’s history.
In a call that’s become familiar in the last 10 years, a group of organizations including the ACLU of Oregon, Portland Copwatch, the National Lawyers’ Guild, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations of Oregon, launched a campaign today to convince the city to cease participation in the FBI-led Joint Terrorism Task Force.
An online petition with over 500 signatures outlines the concerns some have with Awad, including the fact that he and the organization he created were named as unindicted co-conspirators in the 2007 Holy Land Foundation terror-financing case. Five Holy Land Foundation executives were found guilty of funneling millions of dollars to the terror group Hamas.
He has publicly endorsed Hamas and secretly schemed with the Palestinian terrorist group’s supporters to thwart U.S.-led peace efforts.
Now Nihad Awad is preparing a prestigious lecture for Harvard University students on how “to inspire a deeper engagement with critical social issues on campus and in the wider community.”
Long overdue. But why stop there? Like Islamic Relief Worldwide, many of America’s most famous (but actually quite infamous) Muslim groups have been tied to terrorists groups ie CAIR, ISNA, MAS, MSA and terrorist funding “charities.” All of these have groups ties to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood, and other extremist entities bound up in terror financing schemes, according to evidence presented in the Holy Land Foundation trial – the largest terrorist funding trial in our nation’s history.
