47 Groups Weighing SPLC Lawsuit Warn ‘Editors, CEOs’: ‘You Are Complicit’ in Hate Group ‘Defamation’

On Wednesday, no fewer than 47 nonprofit leaders maligned by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) — many if not most of whom are considering a lawsuit against the organization — warned a vast array of executives and leaders that if they parrot the SPLC’s damaging “hate group” labels, they would be “complicit” in “defamation.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), in its anxiousness to erase US history, erroneously included Stonewall Elementary School in Lexington, Kentucky, on its latest “hate map” because they assumed it was named after Confederate General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson. However, the school was named after a literal stone wall that is historic to the area.

47 Nonprofit Leaders Denounce SPLC, Urge Media to Cut Ties With Hate Group Over Libelous ‘Hate Map’ in Open Letter #SPLCexposed

On Wednesday, 47 leaders of conservative nonprofits sent an open letter to the media warning against using the notorious “hate map” put out by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). The leaders denounced any news organization that would cite the SPLC’s list of “extremists” and “hate groups” as if it carried moral authority. “The SPLC is an attack dog of the political left” and should be treated as such, the leaders wrote. I am proud to be a member of the coalition and a signator on this letter.
