The leader of the Council on American Islamic Relations, Nihad Awad, used the massacre of 49 Muslims in New Zealand to promote the fictitious hate report “Targeted.”
It goes without saying that the media will report on this analysis from CAIR.
In fact, if anything, they will promote CAIR’s report morning, noon, and night.
CAIR’s latest report is claiming that Donald Trump’s rhetoric is causing Americans to assault their follow citizens at an “unprecedented” rate.
“As a consequence of his utilization of his political power and platform for this type of signaling, those holding prejudiced, xenophobic, and bigoted views see one of their own in Trump. Ironically, in April of 2017, a white nationalist leader who had assaulted a black woman filed a suit in a federal court, claiming he “acted pursuant to the directives and requests of Donald J. Trump and Donald J. Trump for President,” and therefore, if he was found guilty, the liability “must be shifted to one or both of them.” http://www.islamophobia.org/images/Targeted_2018_Civil_Rights_Report.pdf
However, this is a reference to Matthew Heimbach, and his involvement in removing someone from a Kentucky Trump rally. This is not the same thing as someone claiming Donald Trump as a legal defense for randomly attacking women. https://www.politico.com/story/2017/04/donald-trump-rally-violence-237302
In like manner, CAIR’s sensationalizing of events carries throughout their report. The story about the 68-year old-woman who called a Muslim a terrorist comes across as a trivializing of the term “hate crime” Targeted (page 23).
It is important to remember that CAIR’s hate crime statistics are not coming from the FBI, or local police. They are CAIR’s own numbers.
Specifically, CAIR pads their hate crime statistics with things that are not hate crimes. Such as the case where the police are NOT investigating a scuffle as a hate crime. Targeted (page 23).
According to CAIR, Trump’s rhetoric is responsible for the hate crime statistics that CAIR itself has inflated. Donald Trump is only their straw man.
This next example is particularly apt, as it shows not only CAIR misstating the facts, but the media doing this as well.
“A man approached an American Muslim family’s home and began spewing threats, stating “open the door, I want to kill you.” He threw rocks through the windows and later told authorities, “That’s what Trump would do.” Targeted (page 38) https://abc7chicago.com/news/long-grove-couple-fears-they-were-targeted-by-vandal-because-they-are-muslim/1813979/
But a look at the local newspaper shows that no one, not the defense attorney, the prosecutors, the judge, or the police believe this is a hate crime.
Indeed, Mr. Lamendella is not feeling well. He is hearing things. There is no indication bigotry was a motivation, or that he even knew these people were Muslim. He thought the head of the Irish mafia lived there. According to the Daily Herald, the police report says Lamendella walked his dog home after breaking the window. There is no mention of threats or chasing.
In fact, there is no indication that the victims’ faith motivated him or that he even knew they were Muslims.
In the interest of concision, let us look at just one more example from CAIR’s “Targeted’ report, that of Robin Rhodes attacking a Muslim employee at the JFK airport.
A man assaulted a headscarf-wearing American Muslim airline employee at JFK airport in NYC. He shouted “Are you [expletive] sleeping? Are you praying? What are you doing?” before kicking her in the leg. When she escaped her office, he ran after her, got down on his knees and began to bow down, mimicking Muslim prayer. He then shouted, “F*** Islam, f*** ISIS, Trump is here now. He will get rid of all of you. You can ask Germany, Belgium, and France about these kinds of people. You will see what happens.” Targeted (page 39)
Although this certainly is not good, what does it represent? No one is supporting this, or encouraging it. There are no organized groups of Trump supporters roaming the streets looking for people to attack. In fact, just the opposite is true.
And this is the same with CAIR’s report. Americans are not attacking Muslims at a record pace. To be sure, it is Muslims who are attacking, not just Americans, but everyone else at an unprecedented rate, all over the world.
At the same time, the Hamas terror front CAIR is allowed to operate unchallenged, denounce American citizens, and defy the President.
Last year, there were 289 televised appearances of CAIR in a 244-day time period. To put this in perspective, this is 32 times per month, or more than once a day.
As further evidence of CAIR’s media dominance, a media analyst valued CAIR’s access to the media at 143 million dollars with an estimated audience of 15 billion. And, that is just for year! https://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.profile&ein=770646756
CAIR uses their access to the media to get Americans fired, and promote themselves and their hate speech in the form of fraudulent reports such as “Targeted.”
