The first person CAIR attacked on TV this year was a Bridgeport Correctional Center officer, Anthony Marlak.
It was the usual claim that a Facebook post was a threat to the broader community.
The post was flagged by a Muslim colleague of Marlak’s in June 2019 and sent to department superiors for review.
“I find this post and comment to be highly hateful,” wrote Capt. Fahd Syed in an incident report dated June 17, 2019. “This post causes a major safety and security concerns which directly threatens and target the life’s for those that practice the Islamic faith.” – https://www.ctinsider.com/news/thehour/article/Muslim-group-demands-firing-of-CT-corrections-15861979.php
However, ironically, CAIR board member Fahd Syed is the threat to the community.
Activist arrested after son accused of showing gun as threat
WATERBURY, Conn. (AP) — An activist and member of Waterbury’s Human Rights Commission was arrested after his middle-school-aged son allegedly showed a gun on social media and threatened to beat up another student.
Fahd Syed, 41, was charged last week with risk of injury and failure to properly store a loaded firearm in regard to a minor, the Republican American reported Tuesday.
Syed works for the Department of Corrections as a captain at the Bridgeport Correctional Center and was placed on administrative leave following his arrest, the newspaper reported. He is also a board member on the Connecticut chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, and has been a leader in protests against racism and for religious equality.
