Pentagon severs all ties with SPLC, after using group’s training materials on “extremism”

October 3, 2017, By Robert Spencer:

This is most welcome and long overdue. The SPLC’s training materials on “extremism” wouldn’t point the Defense Department toward jihad terrorists and Sharia supremacists, but toward foes of jihad terror and others that the SPLC classifies as “extremists” along with the likes of the KKK and neo-Nazis. This hard-Left moneymaking and incitement machine’s latest dossier on “Islamophobes” says: “Before you book a spokesperson from an anti-Muslim extremist group or quote them in a story, research their background — detailed in this in-depth guide to 15 of the most visible anti-Muslim activists — and consider the consequences of giving them a platform.”

Story continues below advertisement

The SPLC wishes to silence those who speak honestly about the nature and magnitude of the jihad threat, blaming us for a supposed rise in “Islamophobia.” If they really want to stamp out suspicion of Islam, of course, they will move against not us, but the likes of Omar Mateen, Syed Rizwan Farook, Tashfeen Malik, Nidal Malik Hasan, Mohammed Abdulazeez, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and the myriad other Muslims who commit violence in the name of Islam and justify it by reference to Islamic teachings.

The SPLC doesn’t do that because its objective is not really to stop “Islamophobia” at all, but to create the illusion of a powerful and moneyed network of “Islamophobes” whom can only be stopped if you write a check to the SPLC. That’s what this is really all about. It’s scandalous that the Pentagon ever took this seriously, and good that it has stopped.

“EXCLUSIVE: DOD Drops SPLC From Extremism Training Materials,” by Jonah Bennett, Daily Caller, October 2, 2017:

The Pentagon has officially severed all ties to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) after previously relying on the group’s training materials on extremism.

Brian J. Field, assistant U.S. attorney from the Civil Division, stated that the Department of Defense (DOD) Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity removed any and all references to the SPLC in training materials used by the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI), in an email obtained by The Daily Caller News Foundation from the Department of Justice.

The DEOMI is a DOD school founded to fight segregation and inequality that teaches courses in racial, gender and religious equality, among other subject areas like equal opportunity and pluralism. The courses are available to DOD civilians and service members.

As part of a response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from the Immigration Reform Law Institute, Field wrote in the email sent in late September:

Additionally, the DEOMI office informed me that, based on a previous FOIA request, DEOMI records concerning, regarding, or related to the preparation and presentation of training materials on hate groups or hate crimes were forwarded … That 133-page document did reference the SPLC; however, based upon guidance from the Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity, all references to the SPLC have been removed from any current training.

Interestingly, DEOMI still makes use of materials on “Hate Symbols” from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a group similar to the SPLC. Students at DEOMI use the Hate Symbols reference on the ADL site to “learn more about gang colors or clothing; hate group tattoos and body markings associated with such gangs.”

As a matter of policy, the DOD does not have an official list of hate groups….

In February, The Daily Caller News Foundation published an exclusive piece indicating that the FBI, which formerly used the SPLC as a “hate crimes resource,” has also been distancing itself from the group….

The key words in this article are “distancing itself from the group” (SPLC). The problem with just ‘distancing” is that it does not go far enough and it fails to deal with the actual reasons why. There is a reality that I continue to believe is missing from those types of comments. What they should be doing is acknowledging the fact that islamophobia is not a wrong or improper reaction to the fear that is actually being promulgated by those who accept the Islamic belief system. The reality is all known to us who fear this belief system. As far as I know, aside from some small presently innocuous and in-effective groups, Islam is the only present world wide philosophy and actionable belief system that preaches and promotes Supremacy/Dominance over all non-Muslims, and its books allow those to act violently to do that, justifying their conduct within its writing’s. This philosophy is rightfully feared by us reasonable and right thinking people, and to call us Islamophobic may be accurate but it is not improper in any manner. The supremacists are the people of Islam who accept the writing’s that justify Jihadi. From my point of view, I am Islamophobic, and unless Islam actually rejects its own promotion of Jihad, which probably will never happen, I will remain Islamophobic, and the liberals and the media be damned for their continuing refusal to face the real and happening reality of these times..

Anyone who bows down 5x/day to pledge allegiance to an organization that systematically: 1 oppresses and mutilates women and denies them of basic human rights, sells them into sex slavery 2 calls for the murder, enslavement, torture and extortion of non-believers 3 gives little to no value of basic human rights 4 calls for its followers to be deceptive towards non believers (taqiyya) 5 murders homosexuals for no reason other than they are gay 6 calls for the overthrow of non Sharia governments deserves no quarter. They are worse than the KKK and BLM combined.
Why isn’t the Left wailing and gnashing their teeth over the FACT that Saudi Arabia just last month finally gave women the right to drive?
If the Left wants to tear down everything that could be considered a shrine to slavery, why aren’t they calling for the destruction of mosques?

The left and the mosque are allies of expediency (the enemy of my enemy is my friend) in a war against truth and Godliness. The battle lines have been drawn: the war is against God, and Christians and Jews who follow God. This does NOT mean that anyone who stamps a Christian or Jewish label on themselves are following God!.

In the end the whole rotten leftist structure comes crashing down, and God (and His people) win. Revelation 19:11-16.

Phobia translates into “a morbid dread of something” or simply “fear of something.” I admit that I have a fear of the philosophy of Islam. That does not mean that I will not oppose that philosophy. Had the German public recognized early that they had reason to fear Hitler and his outrageous philosophy, they might have stopped him, but instead they were accepting of his inane leadership and the consequences to Germany and the rest of the world was disastrous. We must not let that happen again. Islam would cause the same horrible results, unless right and reasonable people stand up to this cancerous belief system now and actively both oppose it and stop it.

It is interesting that you bring up the 3rd Reich. I have done lots and lots and lots of reading about it and the trick (which is the same one that the Islamists are using) was to take baby steps over many years with legislation and to use the visual arts and the spoken word, as in Hitler’s speeches, to create a narrative, an image of life as it should be. After 15 years or more no one noticed so much what had happened because it had been so slow and gradual. But the thinking of an entire nation had gradually changed just as ours is doing.

There are 3 great books that get into this: 1) The Nazi Doctors by Lifton; 2) The Language of Oppression by Bosmajian; 3) The Art of the Third Reich by Adam. Of these I found the Nazi Doctors to be the most incredible as the author interviewed surviving Nazi doctors to address the question “How does one convince a group of professionals dedicated to the preservation of life to actively kill?” (Don’t know if you know, but the Death Camps were ALL, 100%, operated by doctors. Doctors did the selections. Doctors gave the orders to turn on and off the gas. It was fully run by MDs. And a little unknown and unpublicized fact was that no action was taken against doctors who refused to engage in killing and medical experimentation.)

The Ominous Parallels, by Dr. Leonard Peikoff

This one was published back in the 80s, and tracked the rise of anti-reason, anti-feedom philosophy in Germany over a couple of hundred years.

Peikoff compared the German National Socialist/Hitler case to the American Postwar case, where the same philosophical beliefs were being imported from the German universities into places like Harvard and Yale, and from there trickling down to all the other American universities, and outward into the broader culture.

This led to a steady rise in mindlessness, steady erosion of freedom, and, most specifically, a steady increase in attacks on the Constitution and the constitutional order.

The book was extremely prescient in predicting rapid deterioration in our politics and overall society that we saw with Clinton, Soebarkah, and now even the anti-First Amendment organizations (anti-FA.)

It totally focuses on gradual change over time, like you are talking about, and how ideas, good or bad, can seep into a culture. It just goes a little deeper into philosophy, and how backward-looking thinkers in 18th and 19th century Germany, who felt nostalgia for the Dark Ages, came into conflict with modern thinkers like Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, Mason, Ethan Allen, etc.

His most memorable example is putting an English translation of a fundamental political speech that Hitler gave next to the transcript of a speech John F. Kennedy gave, and you have to read the fine print in Peikoff’s caption to tell which is which. So just from the 30s and early 40s to the 60s American political life had slid so far.

splc is similar to islam in that it is organized hate, bigotry and oppression. They have suckered in a lot of large companies into supporting their brand of hate as the political cornet obsession that large progressive companies like apple, blinds them to reality.

Any government department that needs Morris Dees and the SPLC to do their thinking for them needs to take a lesson from the public schools on curriculum development, i.e. learning objectives, teaching strategy, relevance to reality, etc.

Uhh. Today homeschooling is the only place you will find those lessons. The public schools no longer teach those lessons. Today they teach liberal groupthink.

As they used to say in Vietnam, there are still a few “pockets of resistance”.

TheCampOfTheDevils

You’re thinking of the movie Rambo (and the actor Sylvester Stallone, former tennis coach at a girls school in Switzerland).

Actually, the North won (so much for “pockets of resistance”) and they won because America withdrew due to public pressure led by stay-at-home, high-toned academics.

Now America is losing another war, on its own soil, the war against Islam, and the Islamisation of America -because, just as in Vietnam, they are just not allowed to go in there and kill the b^stards, kill the ideology, and turn the mosques into carparks.

Look at what Obama said after that Army doctor Hussain slaughtered his own colleagues (and potential patients) -“just workplace violence”. How can you win a war with a leader like that who didn’t want to offend 2% of the population and has been photographed, head-down-arse-up to the Japanese and the Arabs.

Who voted in Hitler?
Who voted in Merkel?
Who voted in Macron?
Who voted in Trudeau Jnr.?
Who voted in Obama?
You did.
Who lost the war?
You did.

With whom did you serve in Vietnam? I was with US Navy squadron VQ-1 at Da Nang. We lost that war because we entered under false pretenses (the Gulf of Tonkin incident was a fraud), ignored every sound precept of war practiced through the centuries (Sun Tzu and Clausewitz), and a Democrat Congress shut off all funding despite the wishes of GOP President Ford.

Read “In Love and in War” by Jim and Sybil Stockdale. He was a long held POW at the Hanoi Hilton and she founded and organized the league of families of captives.

SPLC falls under the classic islamonazi supremacist organization. The simple fact that they organize hit lists (biased lists of what they consider to be hate groups/people) is self explanatory.

This is about 15 years late, SPLC has been a propaganda agency for leftist hate groups for at least that long.
In honesty they began as a good organization that did do good things in the 80’s and 90’s but then decided like all liberal hate groups that their opinions and beliefs were all that mattered and anyone that did not except them were enemies. Their bigotry and hate took over at the turn of the century and went downward from there.
Very good news for the people of America

Great News! And long overdue. The next step: Label SPLC a seditious, domestic terror group tied to funding terrorism (Soros donates to them as well)……then quit buying Kellogg’s products as they not only donated a million dollars to Black Lives Matter who advocate killing law enforcement…they donate to SPLC……and other anti-American groups…..
