There are now tens of millions of Muslim migrants in Europe, who have been allowed to settle deep behind what they regard as enemy lines, the borders of Dar al-Harb. They claim to be refugees seeking asylum, but almost none of them are true refugees, fleeing persecution or death. They are economic migrants, hoping to batten on all the benefits that the generous welfare states of Europe have on offer: free or greatly subsidized housing, free medical care, free education, unemployment benefits (even without having an employment record in Europe), family allowances, and more.

There is a “Great Replacement” going on, and it will continue until enough people realize it is not inevitable, and that there are choices that Europeans can make to ensure that non-Muslim migrants are admitted while Muslim would-be migrants are kept out. The palpable decline in what we optimistically still call “higher education” was on display these last two weeks with campus demonstrations by supporters of Hamas, who in calling for “from the river to the sea/Palestine will be free” were demanding the disappearance of the only Jewish state, and its replacement by a twenty-third Arab one. Those demonstrations by students, and supported by some faculty members, exemplify the moral rot in academia, but there are many other sources of decay, including the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity mania and the campus czars who enforce it, the dumbing-down of courses, the admission of students and hiring of faculty based on criteria other than merit, the vast expansion of administrators that diverts funds from faculty, the rock climbing walls, latte bars, and drag shows that have nothing to do with serious education, the multitude of “grievance studies” courses, therapeutic studies classes and social activist degrees, and much more in this hideous and preposterous vein..

So deep is the hatred of the Iranian regime for Israel that it will not let any of its athletes compete against Israeli athletes, insisting that they instead refuse to play, even though that causes their automatic disqualification from the competition. It has happened in boxing, in wrestling, and especially, in judo, and even — in the game that was invented in Iran — in chess.

Lord Balfour wrote in his letter to Lord Rothschild (“Balfour Declaration” is the name by which that letter was subsequently known), a long-overdue recognition by His Majesty’s Government of the historic connection of the Jewish people to what they call Eretz Israel, the Land of Israel, the place where Jews had lived uninterruptedly for more than 3,000 years.

Biden will be under terrific pressure to exercise the veto, not only from Israel’s many supporters in the Democratic Party, but from the entire Republican Congressional delegation, that controls the House and is almost even in the Senate (51 Democrats-49 Republicans).
