Belgium’s ban on burqas and other full-face Islamic veils has been upheld by the European Court of Human Rights.

The son of a Dutch preacher residing in Belgium has plotted to carry out an attack that was supposed to target police officers in Verviers, near the borders between Belgium and Netherlands.

The ongoing search follows the discovery of a stash of weapons in a Brussels suburb, including Kalashnikov assault rifles, smaller firearms, ammunition, bullet proof vests, detonators, a blue police beacon and security and police uniforms.
