Muslim terrorists unleashed 51 coordinated attacks across southern Thailand Saturday night—22 in Narathiwat, 18 in Yala and 11 in Pattani. The terror spree included bombings, shootings, vehicle thefts, arson and road spikes, injuring at least two people and prompting Malaysia to tighten its border and warn citizens against nonessential travel to Thailand.
Thailand was rocked by at least 51 coordinated bombings and arson attacks across civilian targets Saturday night, with some reports placing the number of attack sites as high as 70. The violence forced the suspension of railway service and reportedly left numerous people wounded, with unconfirmed reports of fatalities. Yet the media continues to describe the perpetrators as a “small-scale Muslim insurgency” active in three southern provinces. Fifty-one to 70 synchronized attacks in a single night are not “small-scale” – they are a coordinated Islamic terror blitz.

DOZENS OF BOMBINGS, ARSON ATTACKS ROCK SOUTHERN THAILAND
ADVERTISEMENTDozens of violent attacks, including bombing and arson rocked Thailand’s insurgency-hit southern provinces, local media reported on Sunday.
A total of 51 violent incidents were carried out across the three southernmost border provinces on Saturday night, almost half of them occurring in Narathiwat, Bangkok Post reported.
At least two people were injured in the attacks in Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala provinces, which the country’s military said were aimed at creating unrest.
There were 22 attacks in Narathiwat alone, followed by 18 in Yala and 11 in Pattani.
They included bombings, public shootings, state vehicle theft and the torching of buildings, power poles and a backhoe. Spikes were also scattered on main roads.
Meanwhile, militant incursions into Malaysia’s northeastern Kelantan state, which borders Thailand, were not reported.
Border security has been heightened, with personnel on high alert to prevent any infiltration attempts, while the main concern remains the entry of undocumented migrants, the state-run Bernama news agency reported.
ADVERTISEMENTCooperation between Malaysian and Thai authorities is being facilitated through the Regional Border Committee, which is set to meet soon to discuss further security measures.
Malaysia advised its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Thailand until the situation stabilizes, given the recent unrest in neighboring regions.
