The vicious Communist Hugo Chávez destroyed Venezuela-Israel relations. Venezuela’s virulent anti-Israel policies continued under the brutal dictator Nicolás Maduro. In January of 2026, the United States captured Maduro, over Maduro’s narco-terrorism and drug trafficking operations, thereby creating the possibility for Venezuela and Israel to normalize relations.
This past July, Israel provided extensive humanitarian aid to Venezuela following the earthquakes that devastated parts of the country. Today, Israel and Venezuela begin the process of rebuilding ties after 17 years. Latin America has become the most pro-Israel region in the world, due to numerous pro-America and pro-Israel candidates being elected. It is a sight to behold.

Israel and Venezuela have agreed to renew consular relations and establish an official coordination mechanism between the two countries, marking the most significant formal contact between Jerusalem and Caracas since diplomatic relations were severed in 2009.
The agreement followed talks in recent weeks and days between Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia. Under the understandings, the two countries will create a mechanism allowing consular services to be provided to citizens living in the other country as needed.
