Migrant suspect in sex assault of 13-year-old girl in NYC park now in NYPD custody

An Ecuadorian migrant is in custody after a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in a secluded part of a vast Queens park, according to sources.
The migrant, who sources believe entered the country in 2021, was taken into police custody early Tuesday — five days after the girl and a 13-year-old boy were held at knifepoint with a “machete-style” blade in the sickening, broad-daylight attack inside Kissena Park on Thursday afternoon.
The bust comes after the NYPD blasted out images and footage of the young man they were looking for on Monday night. The department was also offering a $10,000 award for information leading to an arrest.

ADVERTISEMENTHe was recognized from the wanted flyers by other residents living in the same Queens shelter, who then called the cops.
Authorities say the suspect approached the two teens and forced them into a secluded area of the Flushing Meadows park. He then tied their wrists with shoelaces before he molested the girl.
The monster then took away both teen’s phones and told them to stay put for 20 minutes after he fled, cops said.

The migrant carried out his sickening, broad-daylight act inside Kissena Park on Thursday afternoon. Stephen YangFollowing the assault, the traumatized children ran to their nearby school where they alerted staffers, who called 911.
The brazen, broad daylight attack set off a massive manhunt for the perv and led to a heavy police presence in the park for days while nearby residents waited on edge.
