Dead on op-ed on the low-state of America and whether it is recoverable
Here Is What Scares Me
By: Mark Lewis, Townhall, May 23, 2024:
Can Donald Trump actually win the election this year? Frankly, I am still very fearful that Joe Biden will be re-elected in November. I know that, currently, Trump’s poll numbers are good, but all the polls really tell us is how much the Democrats will have to cheat to win. Because they WILL cheat, we all know that. Let me explain some of my fears.
ADVERTISEMENTAs a trained historian, it is my opinion that Joe Biden is the worst president America has ever had. We’ve had a lot of bad ones. Some of the early presidents were pretty good, but the problem that has developed in American history is that the country has given more and more power to politicians, Presidents in particular, power the Founders never intended them to have, and that no human being should ever have.
Their reasoning was simple and brilliant: very, very few people have the knowledge, wisdom, and virtue to effectively use power for mankind’s benefit. And Joe Biden is certainly not one of the very few who does. That is why our Founders kept the government’s power so limited. Biden is a man of extremely limited intelligence, no wisdom at all, and no virtue or strength of character to do the right things. And Americans put that incompetent bungler into the most powerful position in the world.
That is one thing that scares me—the American people don’t demonstrate much knowledge, wisdom, or virtue anymore, either.
Giving power over others to people like Biden will lead to power being abused. This is, of course, what Biden and the Deep State have done, and we have witnessed the consequences in America being exacerbated in the last three years because of it. The question I want to ask is—and the possible answer further terrifies me—are there enough decent people left in America to reject Joe Biden and to begin to return the country to virtue, goodness, and civilized stability?
