Let the sliming begin.
Now that Amy Coney Barrett has been nominated for the Supreme Court vacancy, the Democrats’ attacks will be nonstop.
The scurrilous, unhinged campaign will be 100% about attacking her Roman Catholic faith.
There’s something about Catholic nominees for the highest court that pushes Democrats over the edge — Clarence Thomas, Sam Alito, Brett Kavanaugh and now Barrett.
So what if Article VI, Clause 3 of the Constitution says: “No religious test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any office of public Trust.”
Democrats don’t care about the Constitution — “you know, the thing,” as Joe Biden calls it. Or, as Barack Obama described it, “the paper.”
Now the Democrats will all be reciting the same talking points, ganging up on the former Notre Dame law professor — 10-on-one is Democrat fun.
hat’s the bad news. The good news is, consider who’ll be in charge of trying to destroy her. The hearings will be conducted by the Senate Judiciary Committee. The ranking Democrat is Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California, who famously told Barrett two years ago that “the Dogma lives loudly within you.”
Feinstein is 87 years old.

The democrats hate God. They hate anything that they cannot control
(this is communism / socialism) as well as anything that exposes their dark agenda, and the word of God does this. I think the biggest problem the dems have with God is He teaches all life comes from Him, is sacred; this includes children in the womb that democrats want to be able to kill at will.
I believe God hates what they do and are about because abortion (and many other things they do) disrupts His plan. If the dems win and get their way I believe God will remove His blessings on our nation for allowing this to happen. The dems are hypocrites, they claim God yet much of what they try to do goes against Him.
I believe that in the Bible we are the land divided by rivers……

The Founding Fathers’ preeminent legal mentor was William Blackstone. His most famous quotation is:
“The fairest and most rational method to interpret the will of the legislator, is by exploring his intentions at the time when the law was made, by signs the most natural and probable. And these signs are either the words, the context, the subject matter, the effects and consequence, or the spirit and reason of the law.”
So a law may look easy to understand word for word. But it may be stupid to follow it. Example: “They’re shall be no reins, cords, or ropes crossing the sidewalks of Wichita.”
OK, that looks easy to interpret, but in court I could fight it like this: “They wrote this law in 1880, because people were tying up horses to trees, and the reins crossed the sidewalks, obstructing pedestrians. But there are no horses in Wichita anymore, so the law is null and void. The intent of that law is gone, so the law should also be gone.” So the intent of the law can be more important than the writ of the law.
And Barrett will have to admit that in her rulings. The Founders would want her to do that.

The manipulators in scotus over the past 100yrs have not only not stepped up when they should but twisted anything to mean whatever their personal and politcal persuasion’s were at the time = many were ARROGANT ANARCHISTIC + ANTI-AMERICAN political manipulators thru-out that time.
There is no such thing as “lifetime appointment” – as it states “if” they are Constitutional and personally decent living = or should be impeached….
GINSBURG should have been impeached many times for her both in + out of the court statements, actions and opinions.
*At least half the standing justices should’ve been impeached over the last 100yrs…!

I’m reasonably certain that Judge Barret understands the difference between word-for-word literalism and overriding intent. The context of her introductory statement, how she reads cases and applies standing law, would seem to indicate as much although she didn’t address it directly.
Your bringing this point into discussion as you have, citing Blackstone, et al, demonstrates a deeper understanding of the Constitution, its origins, and and intent than anything we have thus heard from the Democrats on the Judicial Committee.

That’s a paraphrase of John Adams. Jefferson gave lip service to the Christians who surrounded him; he was a deist who tried to rewrite the Bible to suit himself. He continued to hold slaves when those around him freed theirs; he kept one as a mistress.
As a writer and consolidator of other’s ideas he was superb. His brilliant and inquiring mind was the wellspring of much that shaped America.
As a moralist he fell short. Some of the others, notably Washington and Adams, were the conscience of the young nation. They were Christians.

It’s safely assumed DEMS have no standards, chock full of hypocrisy, racism, hatred of country and lie like crazy. So they are not held to account for what they do. Their hatred of God is also an accepted given. If the Republicans do anything close to this, they are destroyed and usually forced to resign. It’s all part of the double standard and our two tiered justice system.
