Let Erin Burnett tell that to the family of ex-FBI agent Robert Levinson, who has been rotting in an Iranian prison for the last 13 years. Let Erin Burnett tell that to the family members of the hundreds of American troops who were killed or maimed by General Soleimani. This is just another example of why few Americans are watching fake-news CNN.
CNN’s Burnett Calls Death to America Chant Just a ‘Trope’

Story continues below advertisementOn Thursday, CNN host Erin Burnett dismissed Iran’s incessant “death to America” chanting as merely “a thing and a trope.” Burnett was interviewing Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH) about President Trump’s recent statement that he believed Gen. Qasem Soleimani had been actively plotting attacks on U.S. embassies. Now, Erin Burnett wonders if Trump may have divulged classified information in answering questions about the threat posed by Gen. Soleimani. The president can’t win.
Rep. Turner responded by saying that it should come as no surprise that Iran “has been coordinating and targeting interests throughout the Middle East,” pointing out that Iran’s entire parliament continues to chant “Death to America.”
Burnett interrupted, “I will say I was in Tehran when they were chanting ‘Death to America’ once. I was at a rally. The people couldn’t have been more friendly to me personally as an American. It sort of felt like a — it felt like a thing and a trope as opposed to anything that was actually seriously meant and considered. I understand your point but having been there my experience was quite different.”
“Erin,” Rep. Turner responded, “your entire life, Iran … has chanted ‘Death to America,’ and they have taken actions against Americans, American interests, in ways that are lethal, killing Americans, giving weaponry to people who have intentions and who do kill Americans, so it’s not just a slogan. This obviously is something that Iran has systematically continued to do. It’s part of their seeking weapons of mass destruction and their claim to want to wipe Israel off the face of the Earth. These are real threats from the leadership of Iran even though I’m glad you had a safe and a warm response, the people on the street may be different than those who are controlling their military.”

She just jumps at any chance to say “trope” so she can feel as sophisticated as everyone else flitting around at CNN, ignoring and dismissing the existential threats to our country, our people, our future.
Jake Tapper, interviewing Defense Secretary Esper seems so sadly surprised and deeply disappointed to report that massive protests in Tehran are… “chanting death the the supreme… LEADER???

Tapper recounts as if by rote the stipulation that Salami “was a bad guy,” “had the blood of innocents on his hands,” “including that of hundreds of American soldiers,” “Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah.”
But to Tapper and the rest of the Fifth Column Enemy Media it’s all about “the intelligence.”
“Was there any SPECIFIC intelligence that Salami was going to imminently attack the embassy?”
Of course he killed a contractor, but that is in the past.
Yes, he was traveling freely to Baghdad, but he’s a revered General.
We had no SPECIFIC knowledge that he was going to attack our embassy.
You have to wait to have the smoldering evidence that he attacked the embassy before you strike.
Yes, they stormed the embassy and forced the staff into safe rooms, but that is all in the past.

Great. ‘Hey, Erin, since you had such a wonderful time in Iran, why don’t you go live over there. Because, it’s obvious you hate living here in the U.S. You won’t have the same freedoms to speak your bile like you do here, but maybe you can sidle up to some Iranian General and he’ll let you share your opinions once in a while.
