United Kingdom citizens are facing a crisis of housing — of a lack of affordable housing, that is — and apparently, it’s due in large part to the massive surge of migrants and refugees allowed into the country.
A campaign group, Migration Watch UK, is warning that government officials have dramatically underplayed the true effects of mass migration.
And, they say, if you’re a Britain and in the market for new housing, then be prepared: Stocks and supplies are quite low.

In a stinging attack, Migration Watch UK said it was “entirely false and misleading” to suggest two-thirds of housing demand is the result of natural population growth.
Communities Secretary Sajid Javid has claimed the proportion of household growth in England down to immigration is 37 per cent. But Migration Watch says the true figure is far larger.
Its analysis of a decade of official data shows that, of the additional households created in England between 2005 and 2015, 90 per cent had a foreign-born head.
Lord Green of Deddington, chairman of the campaign group, said: “We have a major crisis over housing affecting huge numbers of people but especially the young who are finding it ever harder to get on to the housing ladder.
“Yet the focus of the debate is still entirely on supply. Nobody dares talk about demand and its principal driver – immigration. That has to stop.
“Our paper breaks new ground in daring to point to this central, if uncomfortable, truth.”
Official estimates suggest that over 25 years up until 2039 there will be an average increase of 210,000 households a year in England.
The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) said that of this figure 133,000, or 63 per cent, would be down to the existing population and only 77,000, or 37 per cent, would be the result of future net migration.
But Migration Watch UK believes this is fundamentally wrong because the level of immigration on which the projection was based is significantly too low.
It claims the Government’s projection is based on net migration to England of just 170,500 a year when the figure is currently 300,000 a year and has averaged 200,000 a year over the past decade.
The group also said the projection only takes account of future migration and ignores previous arrivals.
It claims that even the existing migrant population will drive up future household formation because it has a much younger age profile than the UK average.
Tory MP Philip Davies said: “Migration Watch are absolutely right. Housing is the ultimate supply and demand market, and for years and years all the Government has been worried about is increasing the supply.
“If we want to make housing more affordable, the biggest single thing to help would be to reduce immigration because that is what’s driving up prices.”
Ukip MEP and the party’s housing spokesman Tim Aker said: “Current and previous governments have betrayed the British people, denying them the possibility of home ownership due to mass immigration.
“They would rather open our borders than make an Englishman’s home his castle. It’s all well and good, rich metropolitan types getting cheap labour and gardeners.
“All the while, working-class Britain faces soaring rents, a struggle for housing and wage compression.”
A DCLG spokesman said: “We are clear we need to build more homes taking into account a range of factors including predicted population growth.”
Net migration fell 81,000 to 246,000 in the year to March. But the figure is still way off the Government’s target.

The left believes that our form of government, handed down to us by the founding fathers, is out of date and inefficient. They would replace the popular will with the rule of experts, bureaucrats, who toil in the bowels of the agencies making decisions for us that we are too ignorant to make for ourselves. The accidentally manufactured housing crisis in the U.K. is an example of the unintended consequences that follow in the wake of this new form of governance. Beware the “experts,” they gave us Vietnam, Iraq, modern education, and a heartless globalism that strips us of industry and leaves unemployment and misery in its path. The housing crisis but a symptom of the mischief that can be done when unscrupulous and corrupt politicians collude with readily bought bureaucrats.

In other news, western europe is running out of money, some nations already have. Obviously the solution of importing vast herds of muslims did not resole the e u’s economic woes, it will be necessary to import hundreds of thousands more welfare recipients to achieve economic solvency.

I read the article but draw a different conclusion to the one dawn by it’s author, in a nutshell in the name of “growing the economy” {by increasing the population} we’re actually reducing the GDP per head and that is not what America has spent years doing, there, they’ve increased productivity by leaps and bounds by targeting investment and growing GDP per head. We cannot do this by importing people who can barely read or write, but the Liberals expect others to pick up the bill for that, us home owners.

Mass immigration is to provide cheap, Left wing votes and a solid voting bloc majority for the Left. Bringing in more Lefty voters is the only consideration.
California is solidly Left due to the importation of millions of Mexicans when it use to be evenly divided between the Democrats and Republicans.

Migration Watch is run by Sir Andrew Green, a much respected senior former diplomat, what he spoke of 8 years ago about people flooding in causing people like my two daughters to become housing refugees in the land of their birth has come true, as we knew it would. Over 600,000 Poles have moved here, at least they’ll fight for us plus 200,000 Romanians and Bulgarians from two of the poorest countries in the EU, they come for better life chances. I have a problem when an English girl has to find £560 a month for one basement room sharing a bathroom and kitchen with others, this is not the country I knew OR grew up in.
All of this is part of the “Europe without Borders” agenda and is a separate issue to non EU immigration, why is it happening, easy, to destroy the nation state by compulsory mixing of people we are completely unable to prevent form coming in. Those interested could research Peter Sutherland and his many sayings on this issue.
This attempt at the destruction of national identities and cultures is nothing less than forced genocide of the peoples and cultures of the European nation state, the fact that it’s being done without tanks on the streets and fighting between opposing armed groups does not make it any less deadly to OUR social cohesion, identity and future wealth. The Pan European youth movement Generation Identity is the sign of a push back.
It’s happening in America too, September 2016 saw the UN Habitat 111 Conference in Quito, this massive gathering happens once every 20 years and it sets the agenda for developed countries, your Somali “problem” is all part of the big plan. Remember how they were shooed in to white small town New England by Obama ?
The UK was traditionally a place where home ownership was the ambition of anyone with “get up and go”, it peaked at around 75% to 80% a few years ago, now that ratio is dropping rapidly because of wage compression caused by too much unskilled or semi skilled labour chasing too few jobs, Mark Carney the governor of the Bank of England stated this year that our economy must prepare for the loss of 15 million jobs in the next 11 years due to automation. We are also being taken for trillions of $s £s and Euros to be given to others to help “Green” their economies and “reduce inequality”.
Our country like many others is being run NOT for the benefit and enrichment of the native people but others who have up to now and continue to show no allegiance to our nation or it’s future, nobody voted for this because the hidden agenda was one cut at a time hidden by sophistry.
