It was a very tough night for the GOP. The Republicans lost the House and the Senate.
Democrats stormed to victory in the Senate on Tuesday, delivering a devastating loss for Republicans that once seemed improbable just a few months ago.
In a dramatic blue tsunami, Democrats racked up shocking wins in deep red states, including Iowa, Ohio, Kansas, South Carolina, and Texas.
The Republican Congress spent years asking voters for power. Voters gave it to them, and they spent two years showing us how little they could do with it. Now comes the rush to blame Iran, which for some is a fancy way of blaming the Jews. Spare me. Republicans had the White House and both chambers of Congress, a historic opening to turn their promises into law. They squandered it. Every Republican looking for a scapegoat this morning should be made to answer one question: What did you do with the power we gave you?
Republicans had one essential job: pass the SAVE America Act to safeguard free and fair elections. They let it die while they had the votes to set the agenda, and with Democrats taking control of Congress, they’ve slammed the door on any chance of passing it.
If one thing is clear, it’s Americans have short memories. It’s one thing to punish the party, but the country didn’t deserve to be the casualty.
We thought we were better, smarter than Europe. We aren’t.

I can accept losing an election. What I cannot accept is the country entering an era in which trusted institutions can spread disgusting lies, watch millions believe them, and face no consequences because the lies helped their side win.
That is the most frightening result of…

Congratulations to all the Democrat victors tonight, and to all the lazy, worthless Republicans who let it happen. pic.twitter.com/fRtF4gK3yw

Florida held the line but that was it. Stunning losses across the board. Al Qaeda won in New Jersey and the Muslim Brotherhood won in Michigan.
At this point I am more worried about the electorate than I am with the outcome of this election.
The GOP deserved a reckoning. America didn’t deserve the wreckage. Voters who meant to punish a useless Republican Congress handed its power to a Democratic Party increasingly beholden to its radical socialist wing. From New Jersey to Michigan, the party’s hard left has every reason to read these results as permission to push further. The Republicans who squandered their majority paid with their seats. It’s the country who will pay the price.
And yes Thune has got to go.
1. Thune – not passing the Save America Act. President Trump begged the Republicans to do this but they refused.
2. The mainstream media – they turned the people against President Trump. The affordability crisis was caused by Biden and the Democrats passing the Green New Deal and other things which caused high inflation. The mainstream media ignored talking about the affordability crisis caused by Biden but when President Trump was sworn in they immediately started blaming President Trump for the affordability crisis and the high inflation that he inherited from Biden. The Democrats created the crisis and then blamed President Trump for the crisis they created. The Legacy media refused to explain what President Trump was doing to address the affordability crisis and the Executive Orders he put in to help us. (Jude Hawkins)
Of course the Democrats and the RINOs will try to blame Trump. But that is nonsensical. He was the only one actually doing anything.

When a Muslim Brotherhood member wins a Senate race, that’s NOT DEMOCRACY; that’s USEFUL IDIOTS hating their own country. When the mullahs in Iran took over, socialists helped them, and later, the Islamists killed them all. This is the most dangerous moment for Western…

The Political Earthquake:
The most radical nominee to the U.S. Senate in our nation’s history, Democrat Abdul El-Sayed pulled off a stunning defeat over Republican Mike Rogers in the crucial Michigan Senate contest, shattering conventional wisdom that a hard-left candidate couldn’t win a purple battleground.
El-Sayed is now the first Muslim elected to the Senate in US history.
But perhaps the most devastating blow to Republicans was Texas state Rep. James Talarico’s defeat of Attorney General Ken Paxton. Democrats had fulfilled their longstanding dream of transforming Texas into a battleground state. Without Texas, Republicans would effectively be locked out of the presidency in the future. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott also lost in a stunner.
Democrats Take the House
CBS reporting at 11:30 last night: Democrats will capture enough House seats to retake control of the chamber early next year, CBS News projects, effectively halting President Trump’s legislative agenda and teeing up a wave of investigations into his administration and business ventures during his final two years in the White House. Economic discontent over the cost of living helped Democrats flip control of the House after four years of a razor-thin Republican majority that ceded large parts of its legislative authority to the Trump administration. The total extent of Democrats’ majority is unclear as votes in several competitive races continue to be counted. “America is back,” a triumphant House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries said before midnight. “Today begins the great American comeback.” “This is a change election, and we understand as House Democrats that we need to deliver dramatic change,” the New York Democrat said in remarks from Washington, D.C. (CBS).
Mike Johnson responds: We will continue pressing forward with our agenda of common sense and our vision to make America great again. And come 2028, we will take back the house and we will finish this job (Daugherty).
Democrats Take Control of the Senate
Including some surprise defeats—like Texas and South Carolina—that will contribute to some substantive post-mortem conversations.
Wall Street Journal reports: Democrats have taken control of the Senate as a blue wave rippled across the country and voters delivered a rebuke of President Trump. The party flipped Senate seats in Iowa, Kansas, Ohio, Texas, South Carolina and North Carolina and held seats in Georgia and New Hampshire.
• Texas: Democrat James Talarico clinched victory in a key Senate race over Republican state Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democrat Gina Hinojosa secured victory over three-term Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.
• Iowa: Democratic state Rep. Josh Turek won an open Senate seat in Iowa, which last elected a senator from his party in 2008.
• Kansas: Adam Hamilton defeated the incumbent Sen. Roger Marshall to become the first Democrat to win the seat in nearly 100 years.
• South Carolina: In a stunning upset, GOP Sen. Darline Graham, who was backed by Trump, lost to Democrat Annie Andrews in the deep red state of South Carolina, in the seat the late Sen. Lindsey Graham had held more than two decades.
• Ohio: Democrat Amy Acton defeated Republican Vivek Ramaswamy for governor, according to the Associated Press, becoming the first Democrat to win the office since 2006.
• North Carolina: In Democrats’ first Senate flip of the evening, Roy Cooper, the state’s former governor, won the seat that GOP Sen. Thom Tillis is leaving.
• Georgia: Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff, one of Trump’s most vocal critics, defeated Republican challenger Mike Collins. Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms won the governor’s race, becoming the first Black woman elected governor in U.S. history (Wall Street Journal)
NY Post: Democrats stormed to victory in the Senate on Tuesday, delivering a devastating loss for Republicans that once seemed improbable just a few months ago.
In a dramatic blue tsunami, Democrats racked up shocking wins in deep red states, including Iowa, Ohio, Kansas, South Carolina, and Texas — in a massive rebuke of President Trump and GOP control of government.
The wipeout began shortly after polls closed, when incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) waltzed to victory in what was once seen as a key pickup opportunity for Republicans.
Then former North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper (D) was declared the winner for the Old North State, in a flip for Dems. While Democrats had been expected to win both of those seats, they were called remarkably quickly.
Historic wins in GOP heartlands in stunning upset for Trump
The ground shifted in Texas: Texans Elect James Talarico to US Senate, Gina Hinojosa to Governor
Democrat Gina Hinojosa defeated Gov. Greg Abbott Tuesday, denying the Republican a record fourth term and triggering a political earthquake in a state that has not seen a Democrat sit in the governor’s mansion this century. “We did it. Everything is bigger, including the shock of this win. We shocked the world tonight,” said Hinojosa, in her victory speech before 11 p.m. where supporters could be heard sobbing. “It never bothered me that they doubted me. It bothered me that they doubted us. Hundreds and millions on attack ads, written off over and over again, but Texas, my faith in you never wavered” (Texas Tribune). On the Talarico win: Talarico’s victory, a political earthquake unseen in Texas this century, delivers his party its first statewide win here since 1994, ending the longest active streak of one-party dominance in any state. The U.S. Senate drought for Texas Democrats extended back to 1988 — when Rick Perry was still a Democratic state lawmaker, the Cowboys were coached by Tom Landry and Talarico was not yet born (Texas Tribune).
Her victory flag is the Palestinian flag.

How indeed?
