CAIR Colonizes California for Islam

New law makes Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha official state holidays, with a “curriculum guide” for public schools.

California Assembly Bill 2017 would “add Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha to the list of state holidays” and permit state employees to receive holiday credit for the Muslim holidays. The measure, by San Francisco Democrat Matt Haney, has passed the state Senate education committee. The Council on American Islamic Relations, which sponsored the measure, claims AB-2017 “aims to address a longstanding gap in state law for California’s more than one million Muslims, whose two major religious holidays are not currently recognized by the state.”

AB 2017 is a “meaningful step toward ensuring Muslim students can celebrate Eid with the same dignity, respect, and accommodation afforded to other faith communities,” contends Oussama Mokeddem, CAIR’s California  legislative and government affairs director. “Today’s committee passage brings California one step closer to ensuring our state’s laws reflect the true diversity of its people,” and so on, and there’s more to it.

“The State Board of Education,” the bill stipulates, “may adopt a model curriculum guide to be available for use by public schools for exercises related to Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.” On the other hand, as Katy Grimes of the California Globe explains, “preferential formal recognition plus curriculum celebration for one minority faith, while majority Christian cultural markers are often generically renamed, is not strict neutrality. It is selective accommodation,” and amounts to “the privileging of one.”

And as Grimes notes, “there are no official state Jewish holidays or Buddhist holidays.” Or official Sikh state holidays, or Hindu state holidays, or Zoroastrian state holidays. AB-2017 has a constitutional problem but so far no word from the American Civil Liberties Union. In similar style, CAIR claims to “protect civil rights” and “promote justice.” Californians might recall CAIR’s response to the events of December 2, 2015 at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino.

Muslims Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik shot dead Robert Adams, Isaac Amianos, Bennetta Betbadal, Harry Bowman, Sierra Clayborn, Juan Espinoza, Aurora Godoy, Shannon Johnson, Larry Daniel Kaufman, Damien Meins, Tin Nguyen, Nicholas Thalasinos, Yvette Velasco, and Michael Wetzel. The Muslims wounded more than 20 others before fleeing in a black SUV. After taking down the terrorists, San Bernardino police found a trigger device to detonate bombs the Muslims had planted to take out first responders.

“We don’t know the motive yet,” said CAIR’s Los Angeles director Hussam Ayloush.

“This could be workplace rage, it could be the result of some mental instability, or it could be some twisted ideological belief,” and so on. It was “horrific” and “should be condemned” but Ayloush did not directly condemn the mass murder and failed to name a single victim.

“Islamophobic and xenophobic rhetoric by certain public figures has made Muslim communities an easy target for hate crimes,” proclaimed Ayloush at an event with state attorney general Kamala Harris, who also failed to condemn the Muslim murderers or name a single victim. The 14 dead included blacks, Hispanics, and Asians, but no word of a hate crime or racism.

In a statement one year later, Harris recalled “those who lost their lives and the loved ones they left behind,” but again named not a single victim. Harris attended not a single victim’s funeral and held no events to honor their memory or aid their families.

Ayloush’s charge of “workplace rage” recalls the events of November 5, 2009, at Fort Hood, Texas. Self-described “soldier of Allah” Major Nidal Hasan, yelling “Allahu akbar” as he fired, shot dead 13 unarmed American soldiers, including Pvt. Francheska Velez, who pleaded for the life of her unborn child. The President Formerly Known as Barry Soetoro, raised in Indonesia, called this attack “workplace violence,” not terrorism or even gun violence. In 2014, the president declined to meet with Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford, who took seven bullets from the jihadist.

The “workplace rage” excuse for the San Bernardino mass murder exposes CAIR’s “civil rights” claim as false. CAIR is a front for the Muslim Brotherhood, a kind of Islamic Comintern. Congress should expand and amend the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) and require CAIR to register as an official agent of the brotherhood.

CAIR would doubtless author the “model curriculum guide” for the official Eid holidays, in effect, transforming public schools into madrasas. AB-1207 is part of CAIR’s campaign to colonize California, where according to Grimes’ count, Muslims represent only one percent of the population. As the measure moves on to the Senate appropriations committee, a couple things to remember.

Mass murderer Nidal Hasan was sentenced to death in 2013. In 2025, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said Hasan deserved execution but at this writing the jihadist remains alive. Jihad denier Kamala Harris, whose election in 2010 was highly dubious, moved on to the US Senate and replaced Joe Biden as the Democrats’ candidate for president in 2024. In 2026 moving forward, the struggle against Islamic terrorism and Islamic colonialism is the struggle of memory against forgetting.
