Scorned RINO Senators Cornyn and Tillis Force Cancellation of Vote on Blanche Attorney General Nomination

Once again, the treacherous band of RINOs has sabotaged the Republican agenda.

Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) are showing no signs of backing down on their demands concerning Todd Blanche’s nomination to become permanent attorney general, throwing his confirmation into serious doubt.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) canceled the panel’s scheduled meeting to vote today on Blanche’s nomination, after negotiations throughout the day failed to win over the pair of “YOLO caucus” senators.

Cornyn lost his primary and Tillis chose not to run again rather than face a primary challenger so their masks are off. They are doing their worst to sabotage the party.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley canceled late Wednesday night a planned meeting to consider acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s nomination for the post, amid opposition from a handful of Republican senators.

The cancellation comes as North Carolina GOP Sen. Thom Tillis and Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn continue to oppose Blanche’s nomination over a dispute about whether the administration will revive a $1.776 billion fund for victims of “weaponization” by the Justice Department.

The senators are concerned the department under Blanche’s leadership will revive the deal, since an agreement on the deal still exists in writing.

“Chairman Grassley works to set President Trump’s nominees up for success in committee, not failure,” a spokesperson for Grassley told The Hill. “Senators Cornyn and Tillis want written assurances from the Department of Justice regarding the Trump-IRS settlement.

“Tomorrow’s markup is postponed as work continues to secure sufficient support in committee to favorably report Attorney General-nominee Todd Blanche, who is highly qualified for the job,” the spokesperson added.

The cancellation comes because just one vote could derail Blanche’s confirmation given the slim Republican majority.
