President Trump’s magnificent foreign policy seems like a distant memory. Unfortunately President Trump is now engaging brutal dictatorships throughout Asia and the Middle East.
Erdoğan has undone in two decades what Atatürk spent a lifetime building. Turkey’s secular republic—and Atatürk’s historic separation of mosque and state—has been cast into the dustbin of history.
Turkey was removed from the F-35 program because of it’s purchase of the Russian S-400 air defense system. The concern is that the presence of Russian radar on the S-400 could allow Russia to gather intelligence on the F-35. Enabling Russia to possibly erode or eliminate the F-35’s technological advantage over the S-400. Furthermore, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is an extremely dangerous man (here, here, here) and should not have access to America’s most advanced weapons.
Stop giving our best technology away to Islamist nut job Erdogan! Turkey became a NATO member long before Erdogan seized power. https://t.co/Wrx7YQU6Db

Trump signals Turkey could rejoin F-35 programme ahead of NATO summit
By Yahoo, June 24th, 2026
US President Donald Trump signalled on Wednesday that Turkey could be allowed to rejoin the F-35 fighter jet programme ahead of a NATO summit in Ankara next month.
Asked whether he would bring good news to Ankara regarding Turkey’s participation in the programme, Trump replied: “I think so.”
The question also referred to a US-made engine that Turkey is seeking for another fighter aircraft project.
