The UAE and Israel officially normalized relations on August 13, 2020, through the US-brokered Abraham Accords, establishing full diplomatic, economic, and security ties. Embassies were opened in 2021, and the partnership, which includes a free trade agreement (2022) and intense security cooperation, has continued to develop despite regional tensions.

Key Aspects of Official Relations:

Diplomatic Ties: Full diplomatic relations were established in 2020, with Israel-UAE relations officially normalized on September 15, 2020, at the White House.
Embassies and Envoys: The Israeli embassy in Abu Dhabi opened in January 2021, while the UAE embassy in Tel Aviv opened in May 2021.
Economic Cooperation: A free trade agreement (officially the UAE-Israel Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) was signed in 2022, boosting bilateral trade and investment in technology and energy.
Security Partnership: The two nations have increased security collaboration, including intelligence sharing and air defense systems, with reports of Israel assisting the UAE with, for example, the Barak-8 air defense system.
