Another unhinged statement from the disgusting leftist Thomas Friedman of the New York Times. Friedman’s hatred of President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu runs deep. So deep that Friedman would rather see the Islamic Republic’s genocidal leaders remain in power, because freedom for the Persian people would mean a political win for Trump and Netanyahu. Evil.
Remember: this is the warped lens through which NYT “reporting” is filtered.
An astounding admission by @TomFriedman . He’d rather see the Iranian people continue to be subjugated by an oppressive, cruel, theocratic, radical Iranian regime if the price of their freedom amounts to a political win for Trump or Netanyahu. To his credit, Friedman at least… https://t.co/FIrDGkjmBv

Tom Friedman describes the moral dilemma of most western media. They hate Trump and Bibi so much that they’d rather see Iran win. As I’ve argued, this is why the coverage is so skewed and divorced from reality. https://t.co/D8t7IC5mfQ

Tom Friedman: A democratic Iran might not be worth seeing Trump and Netanyahu get credit for successful regime change like this
ADVERTISEMENTBy Real Clear Politics, April 13th, 2026
New York Times columnist Tom Friedman told CNN’s “Smerconish” that he would love to see the Islamic Republic in Iran replaced by a Democratic regime, but letting Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu get credit for succeeding at overthrowing it like this might not be worth it.
