‘Strategy-Shaping Session’: Netanyahu, Trump to Discuss Iran Talks, Options

13

The United States and State of Israel are engaged in a high-stakes standoff with Iran that mixes diplomacy and military pressure. Indirect nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran resumed in Muscat, Oman, earlier this month, focusing mainly on Iran’s nuclear program amid heightened regional tensions and a significant U.S. military buildup nearby. The U.S. has demanded zero uranium enrichment, restrictions on ballistic missiles, and an end to support for militant proxies—conditions Tehran has largely rejected.

Donald Trump warned Iran to stop killing protesters, or else the regime would face the wrath of the American military. Iran did not stop, and Trump did nothing except to enter into negotiations with the Islamic Republic. Many Iranians who put their faith in Trump’s threats to the regime have been horrified at his failure to act. But President Trump, the Jerusalem Post says in its editorial here Trump can still redeem himself, “Trump has betrayed the Iranian people, but it’s not too late to topple the regime – editorial,” Jerusalem Post,

Benjamin Netanyahu is traveling to Washington to meet Donald Trump this week in what Israeli officials describe as a “strategy-shaping session” on Iran. Israel is pushing the U.S. to demand broader limits on Iran’s missiles and regional activities, fearing that a narrow deal could allow the regime to remain powerful. Israeli officials have even warned they could take unilateral military action if necessary.

Despite the diplomatic efforts, tensions remain high: U.S. forces have shot down an Iranian drone near the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, and Tehran has warned it would defend itself against any “adventurism” by the U.S. and expressed readiness to retaliate against U.S. bases if attacked.

The United States and Israel can take significant military action against Iran, that can very well lead to the end of Iran’s current genocidal regime. Anything less than such an outcome makes no sense, as any diplomatic deal signed with Iran will be ripped to shreds after President Trump leaves office. If god forbid President Trump makes a bad deal with Iran, Israel will strike Iran alone. As they should. Watch General Jack Keane’s analysis below.

‘Strategy-shaping session’: Netanyahu, Trump to discuss Iran talks, options if diplomacy fails

The leaders are set to discuss the current US-Iran talks, as well as the potential for military action.

By Jerusalem Post, Feb 9th, 2026

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will depart on Tuesday for a short visit to the United States. He is slated to meet with US President Donald Trump and senior members of his administration on Wednesday.

Israeli officials describe the meeting as a “strategy-shaping session,” meaning that it will focus not only on the US-Iran negotiations themselves but also on what could happen if the talks were to fail, including discussions of a potential US military strike.
