US Supreme Court Convenes on Petitions Against Anti-Boycott Jews (BDS) Laws

1

The far-left American Civil Liberties Union Foundation is trying to convince the SCOTUS to rule against an anti-BDS (Boycott Jews Movement) law from Arkansas. The ACLU is being supported by numerous radical anti-Israel groups, such as Jewish Voice for Peace, J Street, Palestine Legal Support, and CAIR.

The United States has already adopted two anti-boycott laws directed at the Arab boycott of Israel.

There are over 30 states with anti-BDS laws. If the Left is successful in convincing the SCOTUS to strike them down, life for pro-Israel Jewish Americans will become even more dangerous.

The American Civil Liberties Union Foundation filed a lawsuit on behalf of the Times in 2018. In 2019 the case was dismissed by the district court.

The US Supreme court will convene to decide if boycotting is free speech on Friday over a case set off by anti-BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) laws.

The court’s decision on the case, Arkansas Times v Waldrip, will likely be published the following week.

In 2018, the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College, which usually runs ads with the Arkansas Times, demanded that the paper sign an agreement conforming with Act 710. The 2017 state law prevents state bodies from contracting or investing with those engaging in the boycott of Israel.
