WATCH Iowa dad Dad confronts Elizabeth Warren over student loan debt

Terrible. This voter is disgusted and rightfully so. “So your going to pay for people who didn’t save any money, and those of us who did the right thing are going to get screwed?” That is correct, Mr. and Mrs. America. Socialism will always reward failure and penalize success. This is what the Democrat Party now stands for. The Democrat Party of JFK is dead and buried. #Trump2020! #GOP2020!

  • Warren wants to wipe out $640billion of student debt

By Daily Mail, January 25, 2019:

Video has emerged showing Senator Elizabeth Warren on Monday being confronted by a man who says her plan to forgive student loan debt would be unfair to people like him who worked hard to pay off what they owed.

The encounter took place during a Warren campaign stop in Grimes, Iowa.

After the event, Warren greeted well-wishers who waited to shake her hand on the ‘selfie line.’

At one point, a man who appeared in his 40s or 50s stepped up a few feet from Warren and demanded to get his money back after paying off his daughter’s student loans.

‘My daughter is in school, I saved all my money just to pay student loans, can I have my money back?’ the man says to Warren.

The senator from Massachusetts replies: ‘Of course not.’

The man then says: ‘So you’re going to pay for people who didn’t save any money, and those of us that did the right thing get screwed?’

He went on: ‘My buddy had fun, bought a car, went on vacation.

‘I saved my money. He made more than I did. I worked a double shift working to get extra money.’

Warren says something inaudible to the man, who in turn accuses the senator of laughing at him.

‘You’re laughing at me,’ he said.

‘No I’m not,’ she answered

The senator then shook the man’s hand before he angrily stormed off.

‘I appreciate your time,’ Warren told him before she continued to meet her other supporters on the ‘selfie line.’

What this “woke” Iowa dad forgot to mention is that college was much cheaper when he was a student. And also wages kept pace with inflation back then. Wages haver stagnated with respect to inflation for the past 40 years, and the tuition rates have skyrocketed. Free/subsidized tuition is by no means a radical idea. It’s already free for K-12, and nobody denounces that as a big government socialist takeover. But for some reason extending it from K-12 through to college is a pie in they sky radical pipe dream.

Are you able to read, little one? The individual that confronted the lying injun … his daughter is STILL (special emphasis added) attending university. That man worked double shift (80 plus, per week), lived frugally without even taking vacations … It’s all in the very limited conversation. So, little mojo, what in the world does the cost of education, back in the day, have to do with this man …. speaking about his daughter, in college, NOW? You poor, poor little thing …. You are SO much fun to laugh AT.

Our poor, poor little mojo. Its education level is obviously exceedingly low. So low, that the poor little thing is incapable of comprehending an article that could readily be read and understood by a second grade, primary school, student. Poor, poor little mojo. How it should be pitied. However, it is SO much fun to laugh AT. Little mojo is simply a classic example of a Democrat Party member. That of being very poorly educated and having an intellect that is below that of an aphid.

Fascinating. I was having a conversation, this early a.m. (around seven). It was on “far right” and Hitler. I said, “Let’s not talk about Hitler, let’s talk about “far right”. So, I asked a few questions, such as is nationalizing certain industries “far right”(?). Then, about private ownership of firearms, as no private citizen should posses those terrible “weapons of war”. Then, was providing higher education open and paid for by the state? Then, it was the government providing “health care” at the taxpayer’s expense.
All of those points were NOT “far right”. Rather, those are good policies, as Senator Warren was basically offering the same.
At that point, I stated that Hitler nationalized certain industries. Moreover, he made private ownership of firearms illegal and had them confiscated (“Hell yes, we’re going to take your ….”). Hitler’s Germany had government provided college … and “health care” was fully paid for by the government.
So, obviously, Hitler wasn’t “far right”. Rather, he was a left-wing progressive, wasn’t he?
That tree-hugger turned five shades of red and settled on purple. Far left regressives simply aren’t the sharpest machetes in the shed.

Correct. The younger generation is definitely on the wrong path. The trouble is, they don’t care they are, nor will they even entertain the idea there may be an alternative to what they think. Sorry to say, but, they are lost. Once they get old enough to run things, most of us will have checked out. So, let them stew in the mess they are creating.

Going to college is not a right. Paying for it, is not the responsibility of the American taxpayer. Do you think this country can take on that kind debt? It would be trillions and trillions of dollars, all at taxpayer expense. Does that sound like a great idea to you.

Mr. Mojo Risin'

Reply to  santashandler

Is K-12 a right? Well, regardless of what you believe, K-12 is free for all Americans. First of all, it’s not even that expensive. It’s ~$47 billion annually, less than last year’s increase in the defense budget. Second, the American taxpayers will not bear the costs. It would come from small taxes (and by small I mean less than 1%) on Wall Street transactions such as selling of bonds. Accordingly it would not add to the debt, unlike the illegal and pointless Middle East wars that have already added trillions (by the way how are we going to pay for that?). Finally, yes it sounds like an excellent idea to me.

santashandler
santashandler

K-12 is a mandate. Big difference from being a right. Not that expensive? So, are you willing to give up 75% of your salary to help fund that kind of a boondoggle? In one sentence, you state, “American taxpayers will not bear the costs.” Then, in the very next sentence, you state “It would come from small taxes.” What?? Perhaps you should formulate your argument a little better before you put it out on forums like this. Makes no sense what you are saying. Selling of bonds? How in the world would the selling of bonds ever come close to paying off trillions of dollars in student loan debt? Are you joking? So what would happen if not enough bonds are sold to cover that kind of student loan debt. Then what? Raise more taxes? If you are so much in favor of gov paying for everything, why don’t you move to a country where you will have that luxury. There are plenty to choose from. You may get an education, but the gov will tell you what kind of job you will have, how much you will make and whether or not you are productive enough to qualify for expensive medical treatment. Haven’t quite thought all that through, have you.

Achmed Mohandjob

Selling of bonds does not result in higher taxes? When principal, plus interest, needs to be paid out to the bondholders, does that money simply fall from the sky?
It’s like mojo’s mommy wants a new car. She cannot even pay her rent, outside of her Section 8 voucher. Even though she has no free money, after her housing voucher is used, and her food stamps are gone, and her monthly taxpayer provided stipend is all used up …
Why, she can simply borrow the money for the new car. Don’t worry, mojo tells its mommy … It’s borrowed … You don’t have to ever pay it back.
Stupid is as stupid does.

“But for some reason extending it from K-12 through to college is a pie in they sky radical pipe dream.” Was pie in the sky the aphorism you were looking for? I wouldn’t mind your idea — as long as you’re willing to give up 80% of your income to fund it — that is, if you’re not already on the government dole and actually have a job.

Mr. Mojo Risin'

It’s not really that expensive. It’s $47 billion annually, which is less than the increase in last year’s defense budget. Also in Bernie’s proposed plan, it will come from taxes on Wall Street transactions (i.e. selling bonds). And fyi I’m an engineer.

Our colleges teach white students that they are immoral and contemptible if they don’t support the White Genocide that’s being carried out by massive third-world immigration and forced assimilation i.e diversity in EVERY white country and ONLY white countries.

Their professors never tell them, “White self-hatred is SICK!!!“

Those professors claim to be anti-racist. What they are is anti-white.

Anti-racist is a codeword for anti-white.

he’s right, but he’ll get screwed. just ask all of us who have saved our money for decades to plan for retirement, just in time for the government to make interest rates zero and steal all of our interest income unless we want to gamble our life savings away in the stock market. those of who did the right things have been played for fools by DC since the 1960’s. i literally hate my government, believe they are an enemy of me and my family, and plan on squandering all my wealth on good times in the near future and joining the moochers. it’s just not worth standing up to this onslaught of evil in DC. not one person there represents what i stand for

Great teaching moment, an American patriot speaks common sense to a head up her ass smug ivy league law professor. I guess Warren never heard of Aesop’s lesson about the ant and the grasshopper. Rewarding laziness and penalizing thrift will only encourage more mendicancy by students and greed from colleges. The federal takeover of the college loan program has done more to inflate college costs than any other factor. Loan amnesty will escalate prices even further.

There she is, behaving like a true politician. Her position for student loan debt forgiveness is flawed, she knows it, and cannot even give a basic answer from a concerned citizen. What does that say about her. Just one more instance where a crooked politician is exposed for what and who they really are.

What they have done is to continue their irresponsible behavior with derivatives to a point now far worse than before.

Whoever wants to study should be able to make a loan – wether the parents are rich or not.
But – as soon as (s)he starts working and earning money the loan must be paid back – wether (s)he finished studies or not.
Furthermore I cannot see why any citizen should be made responsable for the lack of mental or physical capacitay of anybody else.
In a free and democratic society everybody forges her/his own destiny – nobody, except the mentally or physically disabled ones through no fault of their own, deserves full social assistance.

Probably Elizabeth Warren’s first confrontation with reality. Bubble inhabitants should not be allowed to affect policy. If I had my way taxpayer support of the university system would disappear. I wonder if that would cause them to cast off all of the “resentment studies” and focus on real education that prepares people for life.
