Before his meeting with Israeli officials, French President Emmanuel Macron created a small scandal during his visit to the Church of Saint Anne, owned by France in Jerusalem.
The Israeli police escort that provides his security wanted to enter the place, which was not appreciated by the President’s security details, and he started a big kid’s whim to shame Israel.
French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday urged Israeli police officers to let him enter St. Anne’s Church in Jerusalem when a member of the Israeli security forces first wanted to check the security of the premises.

It was exactly in this neighborhood of Jerusalem that Jacques Chirac made his little nervous poop in 1996, and got angry with the Israeli soldiers who were ensuring his safety, by throwing the now famous in the Arab world: “Do you want me to go back to my plane? before demanding that the soldiers leave the Saint-Anne domain.
The sentence made Chirac immensely popular in the Arab world, and Macron did not want to miss the opportunity, on the Jews’ backs, so he made a copy-paste.
A calculated hit
The Church of Saint Anne, built by the Crusaders in the 12th century and offered by the Ottoman Empire to France in 1856, is one of the four French territories in Jerusalem. Israel ensures the security of its capital, including places that belong to France, as it is an ideal hiding place for a terrorist. Macron knows this.
So he decided, during his stroll through the Old City, to visit the Church of Saint Anne to start a scandal.
Few knows it, but the Chirac episode, Emmanuel Macron knows it very well and he rehearsed it: he had parodied it during a jostling during the G7 in Taormine. He knew that the problem would repeat itself, and he prepared his move to embarrass Israel.

They weren’t always craven suck-ups to their muslum overlords. In the 1960’s they designed a custom cannon (and maybe even a new turret) for Israel’s iShermans without which the Sherman would have been near useless in the ’67’ Yom Kippur War. France also sold them various front-line French fighter aircraft (Mystere and Mirage).

If he would hissy-fit a threat to return to his plane, then allow him to do so. Call his bluff.
I believe that Israeli security should have the final say. Regardless, give the security of French property to the French. Let it handle and control its own properties. Then hear Macron whine.

I would be interesting to see how much Fwance’s tourist industry has suffered over the last ten years — I’ll bet every year their tourist industry declines further. If I want to see a muslum hellhole ghetto why would I go allah the way to Fwance to see it when I can go to Dearbornistan, Michigan?
