Iran imprisons bookshop owner for selling Bible as crackdown on Christianity continues

Iran has reportedly imprisoned a business owner for the crime of selling the Bible in his bookshop.

Reports have indicated that Mustafa Rahimi, a bookseller from the Kurdish town of Bukan, was sentenced by the Bukan Public Revolutionary Court to months in prison on charges of selling the Bible.

However, reports are conflicting as to how long Rahimi has been sentenced for.

Story continues below advertisement

Rahimi ran a bookstore in the National Bank alley in Bukan, which lies in Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province near the border with Iraq, the Iranian Christian news agency Mohabat News reports.

Rahimi was arrested and jailed by intelligence officers in mid-June and ordered to pay a hefty fine. He was temporarily freed after paying bail.

The Kurdish human rights group Hengaw Organization for Human Rights reported that Rahimi was re-arrested in mid-August and sentenced to three months and one day in prison on Aug. 28.

However, sources close to Rahimi’s family told Mohabat News that he was sentenced to six months and one day in prison by the revolutionary court.

Rahimi’s arrest comes as there has been a growth of Christianity in the Shia nation and as the oppressive regime has prohibited the selling and publishing of Christian literature.

Everyone with one functioning neuron knows that Iran is about and if in doubt just read the speeches their leaders make. But the west totally refuses to take any notice. This makes Chamberlain in 1938 look like a hero compared to the leftoglobalist sycophantic quislings who think that they are western leaders. At least Chamberlain guessed that there was a problem, Our cojoneless “leaders” wont even do that. I guess that when Iran starts in popping off nukes everywhere they will all blame..Israel. Why not? they hang everything else there. I so hope to live long enough to see these “leaders” hang!

This time around Saudi Arabia needs to ACT. It was their refineries that were hit by Iran by 19 or so cruise missiles. Some didn’t explode and the direction they came from indicated it was Iran. This attack could easily have been prevented. Saudi Arabia has Patriot Missiles. They were pointed southward to defend themselves against Yemen instead of pointed northward because they did not anticipate an attack from Iran and that is where this originated. The Saudis lack IMAGINATION and some common sense! The oil facility should have been protected from all sides!

What the U.S. could provide is technology assistance such as satellite imagery, aircraft carriers and a few destroyers to protect the air craft carriers against missiles in the Gulf to box Iran in and stop these temper tantrums of Iran taking oil tankers. We should not engage in anything beyond that and BILL SAUDI ARABIA FOR THAT! Call it our contribution and call it Operation Ezekiel 38 . Interestingly, Russia, Turkey and the EU want Saudi Arabia to find a “diplomatic” solution rather than retaliation. It’s all lining up.

Saudi Arabia has the latest technology. Not so long ago, Saudi Arabia pledged to purchase $110 billion in U.S …weaponry. That includes purchase of tanks, fighter jets, combat ships and a sophisticated missile defense system, known as THAAD. I don’t know how much of that has been fulfilled but clearly they want to defend themselves and should. My concern is, do any of the Muslims have the brains to OPERATE sophisticated weaponry? Muslims are devious but not always intelligent. This Saudi missile attack validates that.

They should learn how to defends themselves. After all, we STILL buy 1 millions barrels of oil from them DAILY! Terrorists are still in SA and much money paid in this transaction still goes for this activity,

Soddy Barbaria “has Patriot Missiles”, ah isn’t that great. The US used to be called the arsenal of democracy not the arsenal of totalitarian, theocratic, muslum, religious apartheid states.

No Felix. For once you are wrong. The Lord is diligently working In Iran. There were less than 500 believers in Iran in 1978-79 when the Islamic Revolution occurred. Now the conservative estimate is over one million and growing every day. The 70% of the nation 30ish and under do not want to be ruled by Islam. The New Testament is greatly sought after, though I believe it is much better for people to have the entire Bible as The Old Testament is very instructive.

Iran is probably seeing the greatest growth in Christianity of any county, and it is spreading to Afghanistan. As you know, persecution always grows the body of Christ and easy and complacent Christianity results in the watered down and powerless Christian life that is too common in America.

Pray that he and the others imprisoned can endure. The Gospel is spreading in the prisons to people who will not get it otherwise. I have heard that writing to those in prison often results in their getting better treatment because it shows love. They tell those in prison that no one cares. Allah certainly does not love and doesn’t care. It is the love that Jesus shows that draws Muslims to Jesus Christ.

The ignorant muslims want to be treated like they treat others so it’s time to start imprisoning those that sell and own a quran. Time to start showing them how the doctrine of peace treats others.

…and Saudi Arabia BEHEADS Christians. While Secular Godless Israel DENIGRATES and REVILES them, as they pretend to be their friend. Can not win anywhere on this earth.

Early in the 21st century a young Saudi woman had her tongue cut out and was burned to death by her own brother and father for converting to Christianity — no criminal investigation was carried out into her death by the all muslum authorities.

Wow! No outrage from the media.

If the Vatican started jailing people who distributed the Koran, you can bet a CNN Townhall Meeting would appear on your program guide.
