May has been a month of humiliation for the BDS Movement

In the last few days we have seen the left-wing propagandists in the media vilify Israel. Many in the news media have been attacking Israel for defending itself against the bloodthirsty rioters of Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and others. No other democratic country has to deal with these kind of attacks and double standards from the media, which has become increasingly reviled and irrelevant. Many in the news media have become cheerleaders, apologists, and enablers of Hamas and the BDS Movement, both of which seek Israel’s destruction.

Unfortunately for the dishonest and pro-jihad media, the first half of May has once again shown that the BDS Movement is being routed. The fact is that Israel continues to flourish, despite the BDS Movement, a hostile media, and the Israel-hating United Nations. The media’s narrative that Israel is isolated is perhaps the greatest example of “fake news” that we have been subjected to, which says a lot in the era of President Trump. May 2018 will be remembered as a horrific month for the BDS Movement and the anti-Israel establishment.

Just some of the highlights from this month include China’s Jack Ma, the CEO of tech giant Alibaba, receiving an honorable doctorate from the University of Tel Aviv. During his commencement speech, Ma showered praise on Israel, and referred to Israel as a “miracle nation.” Ma also found the time to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, and visit the site of Alibaba’s future R&D centre in Tel Aviv. The Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, also visited Israel. The purpose of Abe’s visit was to bolster the already thriving economic ties between the two countries, and to discuss Israel’s significant security assistance for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Japanese tech giant Canon Inc. also announced that they will begin R&D operations in Israel.

In early May, Israeli flavor and ingredient producer Frutarom was acquired for $7 billion by the American firm International Flavors and Fragrances Inc. Just this week, Amazon.com, Dropbox, and Intel announced huge expansion plans for their Israel operations, bringing foreign investment into Israel to a staggering $13 billion for the month of May alone. When Dropbox Vice President of Engineering Quentin Clark was asked about the companies Israel operations. Clark’s response was “We’re here in Israel because of the talent.” and that “Dropbox can’t not be in Israel.” U.S aerospace giant Boeing and South Korea’s Samsung Electronics announced significant expansion plans for Israel as well.

Israeli musician Netta Barzilai won the Eurovision song contest in Portugal, despite the enormous efforts by the leaders of BDS Movement to prevent the talented Israeli singer from receiving the prestigious award. Argentina’s football club officially rejected a request by the BDS Movement to cancel their soccer match in Israel, just ahead of this year’s World Cup.

However, this month’s greatest defeat of the BDS Movement was the United States formally opening its embassy in Jerusalem. By recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, President Trump has become a hero in Israel. The ceremony was attended by ambassadors from countries that in the past have consistently voted against Israel at the United Nations. Twelve ambassadors from Africa and seven ambassadors from Latin America were in attendance. Later this week, Guatemala and Paraguay will open their embassies in Jerusalem. Many more countries will likely follow suit very shortly.

The “Palestinians” have never built or created anything of value. The BDS Movement has nothing to leverage, which will result in continued defeats at the hands of the Israelis.
