This is pending approval at CBS. Doubt it will make it through, but honestly, there may have been a way for the commentator to be more historically myopic, and morally astigmatic, but I just can’t see how.

Where the Jews faired so well! Don’t believe what you read in Wikipedia about the Jewish Diaspora. The Caliph only kept them alive for the Jyzzia, which along with pillage were the Muslims sources of income. Every article on Islam in the wiki has been thoroughly sanitized.
No, the Muslim people of the middle east hate the Jews because of the Armenian Genocide. Or the Bloody Independence struggle where they killed those millions in Bangladesh. And, Because those poor folks in Boko Harem… No wait. Was that Israel?
Opinions such as yours show the narrowest possible view, and the lest knowledge of history. For 1400 years Islam has pursued the same course, via the same pattern and methods, and Muhammad himself declared that all Jews should be driven out. The Saudi Caliph said the same two days ago. This is not as much about Israel displacing Arabs. The Israelis begged them to stay. This is about the virulent canonized bigotry in the Quran and the prohibition about non-Muslims having any secular authority over Muslims in the Sharia. Israel is the only state in the middle east where all Muslims and non-Muslims are equal before the law, and the Palestinians are throwing rocks, and raping Israeli women in thanks.
The Palestinians can live in Peace, Prosperity, Equality, and Autonomy, one hour after they put down the rocks, and stop teaching hate.
Believe me, I’m just as offended when I see an orthodox Jewish elder standing outside a school yard screaming “Whore!” at an eight year old girl because he is a Militant pedophile, and he can see her arms. But The viscous anti-Semitism that was once celebrated by the Christian and secular authorities in Europe (and elsewhere), has been largely nullified by a secular revision. Islam still celebrates it as canon, and it is the only religion that still approves of sex-slaves, Rape, and the Murder of all who don’t believe Islam.

What offends me the most about your narrowness of view, is that the last time Jews tried to hide behind walls, and wait for the bad people to want to be friends, six million of them dies. Six Million, who not only had to watch their world and their families die in inexpressible cruelty, and unimaginable evil; but, they also had to watch the death of every good thing in humanity while it happened. They were not just Jews. They were human beings. And the only that protects them from it happening again, is the secular freedoms represented in large part, by this nation. Israel was created as a refuge, so that it could never happen again while protected behind the borders of another nation.
In 1947, the Jews begged the Palestinians, The Arabs, and Christians, to stay with them to build such a refuge, and every single Arab/Muslim Government attacked the first day.
Islam teaches that in the last days they will kill every Jew, including those in hiding behind rocks and trees. What we see here today is people like you who are so wholly blinded to the truth and the lessons of history that are so freely available for anyone’s corroboration.
