Musk announced he will give one SpaceX share to each of the roughly 72 million Americans under 18 next year, valued at about $10.5 billion with shares trading around $146. President Trump praised the ‘incredible generosity,’ linking it to Trump Accounts—tax-advantaged savings for kids that already hold donations like those from SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell. The pledge follows similar tech moves and drew broad online praise for empowering kids with real ownership in space tech, though some critics like Sen. Bernie Sanders called for other approaches.

Monday’s share price of SpaceX closed at $149.05. If the tech mogul follows through, the gift would be a charitable act valued somewhere around $10.5 billion. Musk’s X post: Next year, I will give one of my SpaceX shares to every kid in America. This will be the first of many (Musk). Bloomberg adds: Musk is by far the world’s richest person with a net worth of more than $900 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. His SpaceX shares account for the vast majority of that wealth, at about $700 billion, with the rest coming from Tesla Inc., Boring Co. and Neuralink (Bloomberg).
