President Trump announced plans to establish an “AI Force” and appoint a federal AI czar to coordinate the administration’s approach to artificial intelligence. Comparing AI’s potential impact to the Industrial Revolution and the internet, Trump said the initiative would prioritize rapid American innovation, preserve the country’s competitive lead over China and address harmful uses through existing criminal and civil law. He also pledged to challenge what he characterizes as politically driven efforts to impede AI development. The administration has not yet disclosed the proposed organization’s structure, authority, budget or leadership candidates.
Trump knows the left is trying to leave us at a crippling disadvantage. Why would we deliberately handicap ourselves while Communist China races ahead, weaponizing artificial intelligence for military power, mass surveillance, cyberwarfare and global domination? If these executives truly believe their technology poses an existential danger, they should stop selling advanced chips, systems and expertise to China—not demand a Washington regulatory fortress that protects their market share, crushes smaller competitors and leaves Beijing free to surge ahead. The answer is not an American retreat; it is American victory: accelerate innovation, secure our technology, impose strict safeguards against the dangers they warn about and deny our enemies the tools to surpass us. China will not pause. America must not unilaterally disarm in the most consequential technological race of the century.

Trump Says He Will Create ‘AI Force,’ Name AI Czar

WASHINGTON, Sept 19 (Reuters) – US President Donald Trump wrote in a social media post on Saturday that he is creating an “AI Force” to oversee regulation of AI and will announce an AI “czar” in the near future.
“We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows! However, we will also be looking for BAD, and we can do that, very easily, with our already existing Criminal and Civil Justice System.”
