Jihadi El-Sayed Refuses to Condemn IRGC

The Democrats’ nominee to represent Michigan in the Senate was pressed to condemn the Iranian Guard Revolutionary Corp (IRGC) at a town hall event in Ann Arbor on Wednesday. Newsweek reports: Iman Dashti, who identified himself as Persian, told El-Sayed during a town hall at the University of Michigan that his family had been persecuted by the regime in Tehran. Dashti said he was dismayed when leaked audio emerged in which El Sayed did not want to comment on the death of former Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei following U.S. strikes on Iran because “there are a lot of people in Dearborn who are sad today.” “That silence had a gaping hole in our community,” said Dashti as he asked El-Sayed whether “you stand unequivocally against the IRGC?” El-Sayed appeared to evade a direct criticism of the late Ayatollah, replying, “I will always stand for and with democratic movements” but that he opposed U.S. involvement in regime change (Newsweek).

This is insane. A Persian student at UMich just asked Abdul El-Sayed the question every Democrats runs from.

“Do you stand WITH US against the IRGC?”

The young man who asked the question knows exactly why the Islamist candidate wouldn’t answer: a lot of his supporters are very supportive of these institutions, the IRGC. They love the Iranian regime and he doesn’t want to alienate them (Fox News).

Michigan Senate candidate Mike Rogers blasts Abdul El-Sayed for not directly condemning the IRGC when confronted by an Iranian-American student:
