BLOW TO THE NATION: Supreme Court Dodges Mail-In Ballot Showdown, Kicks Election Chaos Down the Road

The Supreme Court took the path of least resistance—only to pave the way for greater resistance and electoral chaos.

No new requirements for mail-in ballots before Election day.

The Court denied the requested stay; Justices Alito and Thomas dissented. Supreme Court order

The Democrats did it – protected their fraud machine.

The Supreme Court chose immediate administrative continuity over a last-minute overhaul of mail voting—but it did not definitively settle the underlying dispute. The Court denied the administration’s request to enforce the new Postal Service rules before the midterms, concluding that emergency relief was unwarranted. Justice Kavanaugh separately indicated that the Postal Service may possess the statutory authority to impose such requirements, but said implementing them after ballots had already been prepared and mailed would be arbitrary and unworkable. Justices Alito and Thomas dissented, arguing that the government had satisfied the requirements for a stay. The decision therefore prevents disruption in the approaching election while leaving the larger questions—how mail ballots should be protected, what authority the Postal Service possesses and when new safeguards may lawfully be imposed—for continued litigation after the votes are counted. The high court looks to avert chaos as the election approaches. Wall Street Journal: The Supreme Court on Monday blocked the Trump administration from imposing new requirements for mail ballots, averting what state and local officials warned would have been a crisis in the midterm elections. In a brief, one-paragraph ruling, the court said the U.S. Postal Service can’t enforce new rules that would have compelled states to quickly redesign their ballot envelopes, submit lists of voters to the federal government and get signoff from postal officials before ballots could be mailed to voters…. State and local officials argued the rules were unconstitutional and exceeded the Postal Service’s statutory authority. They also said that implementing the rules before the Nov. 3 midterms would be logistically impossible, because many ballots have already been prepared, and some states, including North Carolina and Wisconsin, have already started mailing ballots to voters. Nearly a third of American voters used mail ballots in 2024, and some states conduct their elections primarily by mail. Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented from the high court’s decision (Wall Street Journal).

Early voting begins on Friday in Vermont, Minnesota and South Dakota (Ballotopedia).

Madness.

Without free and fair elections, the nation is finished. Nothing else matters. And mail in ballots are rife with fraud.

Most countries in the world do not allow domestic, in-country mail-in voting, including the vast majority of nations across Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.

It is shocking that America, the first nation in human history founded on the sacred principle of individual rights would so recklessly undermine the integrity and power of every individual vote.

Total Ban on Domestic Mail-In Voting:

These nations require all domestic residents to vote in person at a polling station, completely banning mail-in or absentee ballots within their borders. Many do, however, allow their citizens living abroad to mail ballots to embassies.

France: Explicitly banned domestic mail-in voting in 1975 following a series of massive voter fraud scandals in Corsica involving stolen ballots and dead voters. Residents must vote in person or appoint a proxy.

Mexico: Strictly prohibited domestic mail-in voting in 1992 as part of sweeping electoral reforms designed to combat historic institutional fraud. Only citizens permanently residing abroad may use postal ballots.

Belgium: Voting is compulsory, and domestic mail-in voting is entirely illegal. Citizens must go to the polls in person or legally designate a proxy voter.

Italy and Sweden: Both nations require standard domestic residents to vote in person. While they offer postal options for citizens living overseas, they do not offer a mail-in system for residents living inside the country.

Strict “Excuse-Only” Proxies: Some countries like Denmark legally restrict postal ballots to individuals who are physically incapacitated, hospitalized, or completely unable to visit a polling station.

Medical Certification Requirements:

Nations like Japan and Poland require voters to present official, government-verified disability or medical certificates to qualify for a mail-in ballot.
