Meta has a new message warning you to “be careful”when you search for mass migration related news like Ceuta on Instagram, which includes a “get migration info” button that offers “help with moving to a new country.” That then takes potential migrants to a UN website with links to info for asylum seekers, as well as a UN app that brands itself as “empowering migrants”.
Meta’s Migrant Pipeline: Instagram Search Sends Users Straight to UN Asylum Tools

Meta is no longer merely policing what people say about mass migration. It is now directing the migration information flow itself.
Search Instagram for news about the migrant crisis in Ceuta, and Meta inserts a conspicuous warning:
“Be careful when searching for migration info.”
But beneath that supposed warning is a bright blue button marked “Get migration info.”
Click it, and Meta offers “help with moving to a new country” and “options for safe migration.” Follow the trail further, and users are directed to the United Nations refugee agency’s website, complete with information for refugees and asylum seekers and country-specific resources.
The pipeline then leads to the UN’s International Organization for Migration and its MigApp—a downloadable “one-stop shop” providing migrants with information throughout the migration process. The UN openly brands the project “Empowering Migrants.”
So while Europeans search for news about cities being overwhelmed by mass migration, Meta responds by placing migration assistance directly above the search results.
This is not a neutral warning label. It is a digital referral system:
Instagram search → Meta migration guide → UN asylum resources → UN migrant app.
Meta claims the material promotes “safe and regular” migration. But the larger question remains: Why is one of the world’s most powerful technology companies using its platform to steer people searching a migration crisis toward organizations that help migrants navigate the asylum and relocation system?
Europeans looking for the truth about what is happening to Ceuta are warned to “be careful.”
Potential migrants are handed a button.
This is the current situation in Ceuta.
