It all started with a cease-and-desist order for a prayer meeting.
Amy Curtis at Townhall: In 2021, Daniel Grand, an Orthodox Jew, sent an email to some of his friends, planning to hold a small prayer gathering in his home. That email was forwarded to the City of University Heights, which issued a cease-and-desist order against Grand, claiming his home was a ‘place of religious assembly.’ The city demanded that Grand get a permit to hold prayer services in his home, and ordered police and neighbors to monitor Grand’s home and file complaints if he had visitors (Townhall).
Alliance Defending Freedom will argue his case: “Every American has the right to host a prayer gathering in his home, and he certainly doesn’t need a city permit to do so. When government officials forbid that, courts must hold those individuals accountable, immediately,” said ADF Senior Counsel and Vice President of Appellate Advocacy John Bursch. “The city’s actions underscore a troubling trend of weaponizing zoning laws against people of faith while allowing other gatherings of the same size, like book clubs or poker nights, to meet without issue. We’re pleased the Supreme Court will hear this case” (ADF).

Right. So Muslims can take over whole streets and parks in pray. They build mosquestrosities in the middle of residential streets. They can blast the odious call to prayer in cities and twons at all hours but a couple of Jews praying at home is a federal case.
