The Muslim NYC bomb throwers hoped attack would be deadlier than Boston Marathon bombing.
New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch was quite clear, connecting the dots that the mayor would not connect. From Tisch’s press statement on Monday, after Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi were charged: As Kayumi was being placed into an NYPD vehicle following his arrest, a person in the crowd asked why he had done this. As shown on NYPD body-worn camera footage referenced in the complaint, Kayumi responded with “ISIS.” And at the precinct, after being advised of his Miranda rights and waiving those rights, Kayumi said in recorded post-arrest statements that he had watched ISIS propaganda on his phone and that his actions that day were partly inspired by ISIS. The complaint also detailed statements made by Emir Balat after his arrest. En route to the NYPD precinct, Balat made spontaneous statements without being questioned by NYPD officers that were captured on body-worn camera footage. He said, “This isn’t a religion that just stands when people talk about the blessed name of the prophet. We take action, we take action.” As well as, “If I didn’t do it, someone else will come and do it.” ” And later, after waiving his rights, he requested paper and wrote a message declaring in part, “I pledge my allegiance to the Islamic State. Die in your rage, you kuffar.” Now: “die in your rage” is a commonly known ISIS slogan and kuffar is an Arabic term that refers to non-believers. He also told investigators that he had hoped to carry out an attack even bigger than the Boston Marathon bombing, which he noted resulted in only three deaths (Red Wave).

NYC bomb attack suspects launched slew of chilling ISIS-inspired slogans and threats after their arrest
By Ben Kochman and Jorge Fitz-Gibbon, NY Post, March 9, 2026:
The two teens charged with hurling IEDs during a rowdy demonstration outside Gracie Mansion unleashed chilling ISIS-inspired screeds after their arrests, authorities said Monday.
Emir Balat, 18, and 19-year-old Ibrahim Kayumi, drove to Manhattan from their upscale Pennsylvania homes with the intent to cause mayhem and kill – all in the name of the Islamic State, according to the federal complaint against them.
“This isn’t a religion that just stands when people talk about the blessed name of the prophet,” Balat allegedly said after being cuffed by cops on Saturday.
“We take action. If I didn’t do it someone else will come and do it.”

The mayor’s narrative of Islamic victimhood runs so deep that it’s presumably hard for him to process that two Muslim men were more hateful than their right-wing adversaries.

When he arrived at an NYPD precinct, Balat allegedly asked cops for pen and paper – and scribbled a disturbing manifesto proclaiming his extremist beliefs.
“All praise is due to Allah lord of all worlds,” he allegedly wrote. “I pledge my allegiance [sic] to the Islamic State. Die in your rage yu [sic] kuffar.”
Kuffar is the Arabic word for non-believer or infidels.
Meanwhile, Kayumi was captured on police bodycam footage being asked by someone in the crowd “why he had done this,” as he was being placed into an NYPD vehicle after his arrest, according to authorities.
ADVERTISEMENT“ISIS,” he allegedly replied.
Once at the precinct, Kayumi allegedly admitted he watched ISIS propaganda on his phone and that his actions were partially inspired by the terror group.
Balat and Kayumi were arrested by the NYPD after allegedly deploying two IEDs during dueling midday protests on Saturday, including one that was dropped near a group of cops.
