The shooting will be investigated as an act of terrorism, he said.
The shooter opened fire at about 10:49 a.m. in Constant Hall, the university in Norfolk, Virginia, said in an emergency alert.
Two victims were taken to the hospital and appear to be stable, ODU Police Chief Garrett Shelton said. A third victim took themselves to the hospital, he said at a news conference.
“One of the victims is deceased. And we’re working on getting in touch with the family at this point,” he said.
Daily Islamic attacks – brutal, cold-blooded, brazen attacks and still we are prohibited from speaking candidly about Islam. And those of us who risked life and limb to warn our fellow Americans that this was inevitable outcome to jihad immigration were smeared, defamed and libeled, our names dragged through the mud.
CBS News is reporting that the shooter was identified as former Virginia National Guardsman Mohamed Bailor Jalloh. This incident is being investigated as a terror-related attack.
