New York Mayor Mamdani Hosts Anti-Israel Activist Mahmoud Khalil
Mayor Zohran Mamdani hosted controversial anti-Israel activist and accused Hamas sympathizer Mahmoud Khalil, his wife and their young son for dinner at Gracie Mansion for the holy month of Ramadan.
“Last night, as we marked the one year anniversary of his detention, Rama and I were honored to welcome Mahmoud, Noor, and their son Deen to Gracie Mansion to break our fast together,” Mamdani wrote in a Monday Instagram post.
The mayor included a photo of the celebration, showing his wife, Rama Duwaji, holding a plate of food while standing next to a seated Khalil, who was enjoying his meal with a giant smile.
The most basic politician let alone a Mayor in post 9/11 NYC would have hosted those two hero cops NYPD Chief Aaron Edwards and Sgt. Luis Navarro who literally leapt into action on Saturday to nab the Muslim bomb throwers instead of a terror sympathizer and inciter at Gracie Mansion on Sunday night.
But New York City doesn’t hold elections anymore. It’s a one-party machine that stages referendums—ritual confirmations designed to push the treasonous ruling party even further to the left.

Khalil was the instrumental figure organizing the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel protests that consumed the campus of Columbia University in the wake of the October 7 invasion of Israel by Hamas. He welcome the defender of terrorists just days after an Islamist tried to kill protestors outside his residence at Gracie Mansion. Mayor Mamdani: Last night, as we marked the one year anniversary of his detention, Rama and I were honored to welcome Mahmoud, Noor, and their son Deen to Gracie Mansion to break our fast together. Mahmoud is a New Yorker, and he belongs in New York City (Mamdani).
NYC mayor Mamdani’s wife liked social media posts celebrating the October 7th attacks that led to 1200 Israelis being murdered and 250 being taken hostage. https://t.co/DTN5sQSPtU

Simone Rodan-Benzaquen of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies: The post is disgraceful and yet so entirely unsurprising…. What Mamdani does not mention is who Mahmoud Khalil actually is — and what he has actually said…. He justified the October 7 attack as something that “had to happen” to “break the cycle,” even suggesting it was tied to the prospect of a Saudi-Israel normalization deal. This is the man Mamdani chose to honor at Gracie Mansion. And he did so while repeating the blood libel that Israel is committing an “ongoing genocide.” Think about that for a moment. The mayor of New York — home to the largest Jewish population outside Israel — is hosting a man who rationalizes the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, while accusing the Jewish state of genocide (Rodan-Benzauqen).

Useful idiots and pro-Hamas activists in the United States celebrated the atrocities of October 7, when children, civilians, and innocent people were slaughtered.
The wife of New York’s Muslim mayor, Mamdani, is exactly one of them. She showed support by liking posts that… pic.twitter.com/Ig0pd9LQWT

Mamdani should have invited heroic Finest to Gracie Mansion, not the Hamas-loving worst
By Post Editorial Board, March 10, 2026:
What a statement Mayor Zohran Mamdani could have made — if he’d hosted those two hero cops instead of a terror sympathizer at Gracie Mansion on Sunday night.
NYPD Chief Aaron Edwards and Sgt. Luis Navarro literally leapt into action on Saturday to nab the ISIS-inspired alleged bomb throwers, Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi, outside the mayor’s official residence.
ADVERTISEMENTHaving the two Finest at a Gracie Mansion meal the next evening would’ve signaled major respect for the men and women in blue who keep the city safe, and a rejection of the hateful brand of Islam that inspired the suspects.
But the mayor instead chose to make a public point of hosting anti-Israel organizer Mahmoud Khalil for a Ramadan dinner to mark the one-year anniversary of his initial detention in (still ongoing) deportation case.
True to their training and devotion to our city, “NYPD Chief Aaron Edwards and Sergeant Luis Navarro ran towards the danger so that others could run to safety,” noted Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, praising praise of their “courage” and “selflessness.”
They didn’t think twice about running right at Balat as he hurled a smoking IED at them — then chasing him down after the device failed to go off.
