FBI Atlanta Chief Paul Brown tipped off Fulton County election officials about a looming raid — even providing a shopping list of what agents intended to seize — before being removed just days ahead of the warrant’s execution. Instead of demanding records from the lawful custodian, Brown bizarrely asked a potential target to “voluntarily produce” critical evidence — pole tapes, voter tally records, batch sheets — with no deadline. There is no legitimate justification for this letter. It compromised the investigation, telegraphed law-enforcement strategy, and reeks of institutional rot. This is not law enforcement doing its job; it’s criminal and put the case in jeopardy and underscores how deeply compromised the bureau has become.
