Wounded NYPD Detectives REFUSED Medical Care By Doctors and Nurses at NYU Langone Hospital

In a shocking breakdown of medical ethics, NYU Langone staff denied emergency care to injured NYPD detectives because they believed they were ICE.

Two New York City Police Department detectives were denied medical care late Saturday night/early Sunday morning at NYU Langone Health’s Cobble Hill emergency room because staff mistook them for ICE agents.

The scene devolved into chaos. Nurses and physicians refused treatment, accused the detectives of being with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and only relented after disarming the plainclothes officers—despite the detectives having been injured while apprehending a suspect.

This was not a misunderstanding. It was a crime.

Every medical professional involved violated the Hippocratic Oath and Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), which mandates emergency evaluation and stabilization regardless of identity, politics, or affiliation. Refusing care on ideological grounds is unlawful—and dangerous.

Two NYPD Detectives were refused medical attention Sat night/Sun morning at NYU because the nurses & Dr’s thought they were ICE. Huge debacle in the emergency room.

Every single medical professional involved should have their licensure revoked. As a medical professional myself, this is an abomination. There must be accountability. They have all abandoned their oath.
