Virginia: Democrats First Moves With New Majority: Ban Hand-Counted Ballots, Gut Penalties for Rape and Violent Crime, Shield Child Predators, and Side With ICE Opponents

The Republicans have had the House and Senate for well over a year and have done nothing to pass election integrity legislation ensuring the fraud continues. No reforms. No action while fraud remained embedded and untouched. But Democrats have been in power in Virginia for all of 48 hours and they’ve introduced legislation to ban the hand-counting of ballots—the single most transparent safeguard voters have.

Within days, they roll out what can only be described as the “Legalize Crime Act,” the “Steal Future Elections Act,” and a redux of the Somali daycare–style fraud model.

They have introduced a bill to eliminate mandatory minimum sentencing for rape, manslaughter, assaulting a law enforcement officer, possession and distribution of child pornography, and all repeat violent felonies.

Virginia is dragged back into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, the latest climate grift — higher utility bills for families, zero measurable environmental benefit, and a steady stream of cash for politically connected insiders.

Meanwhile, newly installed Governor Abigail Spanberger stands to benefit from the same “green” lobbyists pushing the scheme, while her party advances legislation weakening robbery penalties and softening sentencing standards across the Commonwealth.

Higher crime. Higher costs. Less accountability.

This is what “Democratic governance” looks like when no one is left to stop it.

Fresh from reclaiming full control with Gov. Abigail Spanberger’s November 2025 victory and majorities in the House and Senate, Democrats introduced proposals like a 3.8% investment income tax, expanded sales taxes, an 11% firearms tax, and election changes including extended absentee ballots and machine-only counting. Gun measures include suppressor taxes and assault weapon restrictions, while criminal justice bills ease some sentencing.
