The term “Arctic Frost” was a FBI investigation targeting President Trump and his allies.
In a major revelation, Senator Chuck Grassley revealed that an FBI whistleblower confirmed a Bureau project named “Arctic Frost” targeted groups such as Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA.
The Democrat regime weaponized the government and sought any and all corrupt means to destroy Trump.

FBI investigation
Controversial origins: In recent months, newly public FBI records related to an investigation code-named “Arctic Frost” have been released by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley and Senator Ron Johnson.
Allegations: These records, originating from whistleblowers, are alleged to document a sweeping, politically motivated investigation into Donald Trump and his political supporters by FBI agents and Department of Justice prosecutors.
Political targets: According to a September 2025 press release from Senator Grassley, the investigation sought to place 92 Republican targets under its scope, including the Republican National Committee and Turning Point USA.
Jack Smith case: The Arctic Frost investigation is reported to have provided a basis for one of Special Counsel Jack Smith’s cases against Trump.
Chuck Grasssley:
Arctic Frost was the codename for an FBI investigation into alleged irregularities regarding the 2020 election. Congressional oversight by Republican Senators has alleged the case was tainted by political bias against Donald Trump. The matter was later incorporated into the special counsel investigation of Jack Smith.
Senate oversight
Since early 2025, Senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson have publicly released whistleblower documents related to the Arctic Frost investigation.
The senators claim the documents show the FBI and Department of Justice improperly handled the investigation to target Trump and his allies.
In one email, an FBI official described adding Trump as a “criminal subject” before final approval was granted.
The senators have released further records detailing the scope of the probe, including that the FBI obtained the government cell phones of Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence.
The investigation was reportedly broadened to target Republican organizations and other individuals, including former DOJ official Jeffrey Clark.
Timothy Thibault
The senators’ oversight has focused heavily on Timothy Thibault, a former Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the FBI.
Records indicate that Thibault was a key figure in opening and advancing the Arctic Frost investigation.
He is alleged to have liked anti-Trump social media posts and used the case name “Arctic Frost” as a partisan jab, referencing Trump’s complexion.
Whistleblowers claimed Thibault violated internal FBI procedures by essentially opening and approving his own investigation.
The senators allege Thibault’s misconduct reveals a broader pattern of political bias within FBI and DOJ leadership.
Jack Smith special counsel investigation
In November 2022, the Arctic Frost investigation was transferred to Special Counsel Jack Smith.
Republicans in Congress have argued that Smith’s cases are the continuation of a politically motivated effort that began with the Arctic Frost probe.
