Muslim Antisemitism Running Wild In France

Antisemitic acts in France have been increasing precipitously in France, which has both the largest Jewish and the largest Muslim population in Europe. The Muslims are doing just fine, living on the largesse provided by the generous welfare state that provides them with free or greatly subsidized housing, free medical care, free education, family allowances, and more. It they need a little more to tide them over, they supplement government money with crimes of property — street robberies, house burglaries, shoplifting, drug trafficking. Muslims make up 10% of the population but 70% of the criminals now in French prisons.

Muslims in France have been attacking, robbing, stabbing, murdering, and raping those Jews who are still trusting and brave enough to wear identifiable Jewish garb when outside — kippahs, necklaces with star of David pendants, tzitzits (a ceremonial fringe), wigs for Orthodox women, or to answer truthfully when asked “are you a Jew?”

Shall we recall just a few of those victims? Ilan Halimi was a young man who was captured by a gang of Muslims, who held him for several weeks, hoping to be paid a ransom for his release because they believed that “all Jews are rich,” but his family, frantic with grief, was not. During that time he was subject to hideous tortures and finally died of his wounds. There was Mireille Knoll, an 85-year-old Holocaust survivor, stabbed by Yacine Mihoub, a Muslim living in the same building, 11 times and then set on fire. There was Sara Halimi, 65 years old, beaten almost to death and then thrown out of a window by her neighbor, Kobili Traoré, whom she had long befriended,  There was Rabbi Jonathan Sandler, 30, and his two boys, Arieh, 5, and Gabriel, 3, as well as a little girl, 8-year-old Myriam Monsenego, all of whom were shot to death outside a Jewish school in Toulouse by Mohamed Mera. There were the four Jewish shoppers and store personnel murdered at the Cacher Market in Vincennes by a Muslim, Amedy Coulibaly.

Should I go on? I could, you know. Go on and on and on.

But that is quite enough. Instead, I’ll just post news about the latest case of a Muslim attacking a Jew in France right here.

A Jewish man wearing a kippah was brutally attacked and called a “dirty Jew” in France this week, as the country continues to face a rise in antisemitic incidents since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war in 2023.

This latest antisemitic attack took place on Wednesday night in Anduze, a small town in southern France, where the 70-year-old Jewish man was brutally beaten by an intoxicated individual, French media reported.

The elderly man — wearing a kippah and tzitzit, fringes on Jewish religious garments worn underneath a shirt, was feeding stray cats on the street when a 40-year-old drunk man approached him and demanded money.

According to eyewitness statements, when the victim refused to give him money, the attacker punched and kicked him repeatedly while calling him a “dirty Jew.”

The town’s prosecutor, Abdelkrim Grini, confirmed that the antisemitic nature of the attack was “proven” in light of the events that took place, according to the French publication Entrevue.

The suspect, who had previously been arrested for theft, was taken into custody on Thursday morning and is facing charges of “violence and insults based on religious affiliation or non-affiliation.”

However, due to his intoxication, he could not be interrogated immediately and will be questioned once his condition permits.

I hope French Jews don’t leave the country for Israel or North America. Though it is heartbreakingly understandable why some would be so discouraged by all this hideousness as to decide to leave, France would be much the poorer for their absence. Besides, in France, the Jews can stand up for, make the case for, the Jewish state. And by remaining, they can support Christians and other non-Jews who are also the subjects, though until now not quite as brutally as Jews, of Muslim crime, Muslim persecution, Muslim hatred of the Infidels who are regarded as “the most vile of created beings.”
