Paris police shoot knifeman dead after he ‘threw himself at cops with knives in both hands’

A knifeman was shot dead in France today after reportedly threatening police in a Paris suburb.
The suspect is said to have ‘thrown himself’ at officers in Dugny, around seven miles from the city centre, on Tuesday morning. An investigating source said: “He was sitting at a bus stop with a knife in each hand. When police turned up, he ran towards them, without saying a word.”

One of the officers used an electric stun gun, without managing to control the man. It was then that another officer opened fire with his service pistol, wounding the suspect in the chest. There were attempts to revive the man at the scene, but he was soon declared dead. An investigation was immediately launched by the Seine-Saint-Denis territorial security service, as well as the French National Police General Inspectorate.
