The war against Israel is a religious war, a holy war mandated by Islamic Jew hatred in the Quran. The sharia-compliant BBC knows it and it knows how to sell it.

This is not merely a mistranslation of ‘Jew’ for Israeli’, which is egregious in its own right and any argument that this is an appropriate translation is entirely in bad faith.
The BBC changed ‘Jew’ to ‘Israeli *forces*’ thereby falsely implying she is speaking of active duty soldiers. This malicious addition completely alters her meaning, and the viewer’s perception of her sentiments will be warped.
Furthermore, the word ‘Jihad’, a fight against the enemies of Islam, is changed to ‘fighting and resisting’ thereby completely hiding the religious motivations that would be immediately known if it had been appropriately translated.
Language is everything and translation is an art.
ADVERTISEMENTThe goal of translation is to accurately communicate the sentiments of the original speaker (or signer). Translators are ethically bound not to let one’s own feelings or bias impact this pursuit.
I will repeat that this is the single worst breach of these professional ethics that I have ever personally seen. In impact this whitewashes violence against Jews to millions of viewers, and it is hard to argue that this wasn’t the deliberate intent.
