Democrats Panicked About DOGE Accessing Feds’ Computers But They Were OK With Communist China Accessing Feds’ Computers

So Democrats were nonplussed when Communist Chinese successfully breached US Treasury Department workstations in what was a “major incident”. No media, no outrage, nothing. But they are in complete meltdown at the idea of an audit, of transparency. What are they hiding?

Democrats More Panicked About DOGE Accessing Feds’ Computers Than Chinese Hackers

By: Brianna Lyman, The Federalist, February 07, 2025

Democrats held three press conferences just this week alone fretting over DOGE potentially having more oversight capability into the federal government. But that’s three more press conferences than they’ve ever held in response to China’s cyberattacks that infiltrated our systems and actually stole sensitive data.

Democrat members of the House Ways and Means Committee held a press conference attacking the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for being granted read-only access to the Treasury Department’s payment system. Senate Democrats also held a similar press briefing, calling DOGE’s oversight a “hostile takeover of the Treasury Department.” Democrats also assembled outside the Capitol to rally support for fleecing the taxpayers more to pay for things like transgender comic books in Peru.

Democrats also feigned outrage about DOGE “having access to the management and disbursement of trillions of dollars and the highly sensitive information of millions of Americans.”

Yet, this is the same party that, after Chinese hackers have repeatedly breached our cybersecurity and stolen millions of Americans’ sensitive data, has stayed silent.

Just this past December, Chinese hackers “breached the U.S. Treasury Department’s computer security guardrails … and stole documents in what Treasury called a ‘major incident,’” according to Reuters. The Treasury Department claimed the Chinese hackers accessed unclassified documents and Treasury user workstations.

A cursory search of “Senate Democrats China Hacked Treasury Department December, 2024” brings up … nothing. No press briefings. No collective statement. A few lone voices spoke out, but even The Guardian reported in December that “the issue has gained little public traction …”

This wasn’t China’s first breach, either. In October, Chinese hackers infiltrated the U.S. telecommunications system. The New York Times reported the hackers are believed to have breached the telecommunication network to try and target President Donald Trump and his campaign.

And what did Democrats do?

They certainly didn’t get together to hold repeated press briefings. They didn’t collectively release any statements. They didn’t care enough to drive public attention toward a massive problem. Once again, just a few lone wolves spoke out about the issue.

In 2015, Chinese hackers stole the personal information of more than 22 million people, including their Social Security numbers.

Perhaps if Democrats had approached our number one geopolitical foe with the same vitriol they have toward a domestic agency intent on rooting out waste and fraud, then Chinese hackers wouldn’t have been able to continue hacking our system and putting sensitive information actually in risk.

But Democrats don’t actually care about protecting Americans or our data. They just hate that their grift is being exposed and that the gravy train for their far-left pet projects is coming to an end, so they’re having public meltdowns.
